I have the 2005 YZ250 that my son rode for a little while. The engine has never been rebuilt as of yet. Looking at selling off my hurd of bikes and maybe either getting something new or maybe rebuild the YZ with the 300 stuff.
Since I already have the big tank and flywheel weight I am leaning that way. Especially since there hasn't been any changes to the YZ250 in years.

What do you think and what would I need to do to have this work done????? Any extras that you could suggest to meet my type of riding???

Mully-

Eric does our stuff on that ,its really his kit,his pistons etc.. :)

but basically you send him your cylinder ,it gets reworked and comes back with piston rings .gaskets etc..

for your riding YZ250s are dam popular..

add a big tank and a rekluse to santa's list maybe..
??

Eric told me the the YZ300 is his best selling package right now. It's such a big part of his business that he bought a used aluninum frame YZ250 for himself and is using it as a development bike for the 300 kit. It's a really cool combo, and AJ is right, the Rekluse Pro would be the icing on the cake.

I rode a YZ250 with a Rekluse this past weekend. The power was great and the bike handled really well. I am not used to a 2-stroke and not having engine braking really messed me up a little but it was a lot of fun.

Can't imagine how much more fun a 300 kit would bring.

Since I drank the Orange Kool-aid in the 300cc configuration, and the Gas Gas 300 I am sold on the little extra the 300 gives. Since I had several Yamaha IT's over the years (77-175, 80-175, 83-250, and a 85-200) I want to make another one. Imagine a Yamaha IT300 (maybe even have someone make IT300 graphics)

Ok, i have made up my mind. :coocoo:

Project IT300 is officially starting this weekend.

My email to Eric.

Eric,

Been a long time since we spoke. Dirt Week at Casey if I remember correctly 2004 maybe??.

AJ and Rich have got me thinking about a project that I think I am going to do over the winter.
I am going to sell some of my dirt bikes (7 total) to begin with, then do a complete rebuild of one of my other existing bikes.

I have a 2005 YZ250 that has low hours on it.
Since they haven’t changed the YZ since that year I am going to finally rebuild the motor and thought about your 300 kit.
The top end has never been touched.

I want to call this project “Project IT 300”

This is what I would like to do.
I already have the larger IMS tank, and a heavier flywheel weight.
I want to do the 300 kit that would be for the woods and not to Moto.
Maybe throw a lighting coil on it for the head and tail lights.
GPR steering damper.
Brush Guards
Get a custom graphics kit based on the old Yamaha IT scheme.
Then refresh the suspension for a little softer ride (i.e. woods, Enduros, Hare Scrambles)

Let me know what I need to do regarding the 300 kit.

Also, I am open to suggestions on this project.

Thanks for your time; I look forward to working with you on this.
