Anybody besides me flying on 9-11? I will be flying from Phoenix back to St. Louis. I really didn't think it would bother me but the more I think about it the more freaky it seems. The last few days I've been thinking about things like the Arch being a national monument etc. The feelings I have aren't really fear, but very weird and hard to describe. I watched a show about the Twin Towers last night (not a good way to calm myself). Just curious if anyone else has to fly and feels the anxiety.

I was planning on flying that day just because, was going to Chicago with my brother for lunch but seeing that I was going to be gone to DW, I didn't want to leave the Mrs. and kids for 2 more days. I wouldn't make yourself nervous, I'd go the opposite, don't let THEM dictate what WE can and can't do.:thumb:

TTR-Guy - Don't give in to the thought. If I had the opportunity to fly on 911, I would do it without hesitation. You'll be okay! You'll be one of the brave ones stepping up to the plate for the victims of this date.

What time is your flight? If it helps, post your air time here and we can all think of you and wish you well.

I'm not considering NOT flying - just feeling a little strange about it. Wondering what will be going through my head boarding the plane, taking off etc. I just think its going to be kind of surreal. AMERICAN AIRLINES Flight #3106 scheduled to depart Phoenix 11:05 AM and arrive in StL @ 4:00 PM

Don't let it get to you. I flew into Vegas the weekend of July 4th, and rumors about an attack were all over the news. Of course, nothing happened, but it felt weird getting onto a nearly empty 767. There were only 42 people on board, and we each had our own row. I was more freaked out about the empty plane than I was about the rumors.

Afew people i know were suppose to fly out on 9-11 for a business meeting but some of them got jumpy. So they moved it to 9-13 (friday the 13th). :eek: It takes some people 3 tries to get things right. :)

Eddie would you want to be the moron that says "We're taking over the plane."? THAT's the people that SHOULD be feeling uneasy! If I was flying I'd remember it no doubt but if some twit did ANYTHING stupid I would stuff their sorry butt in the overhead bin or at least what was left of their sorry butt. (and not the one with the pillows and blankets). You'll be fine buddy!

Our company sent out a memo stating that any travel on that day for meetings were not required. They are encouraging people to teleconference instead. I thought that was interesting.

Don’t sweat it, I am going to Charlotte for that week and I was thinking that I should do "something" on the 11th, then I realized that if I remember, and help in any way to make it never happen again... well that is all I can do. As for uneasiness of flying, we are safer now then you ever have been... unless you PO an air-marshal! Don’t let that SOB ( who is now worm feed :) ) win. Do your thing, live your life, that is the best tribute that we can give to the ones that we lost.

Flying is a PIA on any day and I am always in a bad mood when I have to. I'm flying OKC to Vegas that day, and hope that everyone else stays home so I don't have to feel like I'm on a cattle car.

Delta gate agent in DEN told me that they have 2500 seats out of DEN and only 900 filled on 9/11. Anyone flying Wednesday should have plenty of room to spread out.

Eddie - I fly through St. Louis almost weekly. Actually i just sat on the ground for 3 hours there last Thursday while they fixed a mechanical problem. (AA) :|

For 9/11 i will be flying through DFW on my trip from MTY to DAY. Did i think about 9/11 while booking the flights? Sure. Did i change my flights to another day? No.

MTY = Monterrey, Mexico
DAY = Dayton, Ohio

I wouldn't worry about it. 9-11 is probably going to be the safest day to fly b/c everyone is going to be on alert. Now that we know what to expect from those cowards we are not going to let it happen again. :thumb:

I flew home yesterday and there were more security people in the airport then travelers! I mean crowds of them! It was nice to see, but I agree with xrsforever, in that people in planes will not ever just let terrorists do what they want again.
