Best 250MXER for HS

What do you guys feel is the best Jap 250 crosser for hare scramble use? I have an 02 400 EXC that I really like for trail riding but I want to keep it in good shape. It seems that I totally destroy my bike after a season of hare scrambles. I think I am just going to buy an 02 250 something for the HS series this year. I am an int. rider. 6ft tall 180 lbs no gear. I dont want to spend tons of $ to mod the suspension, pipes etc... What bike do you think is the best mxer for HS? My local dealer sells all 4 brands so it doesnt really matter. He is offering me the best deal on the CR250 and the KX250 as he has more of them to sell vs. YZs and RMs. Mind you the YZ/RM is only a couple of hundred more. Thanks for the advice.

the 02 CR is awesome with FMF Fatty + an 11oz flywheel weight. my dad rides one, so ive had experience on it. to be honest...the KDX220 with only a couple upgrades will run with/out run that CR and the power is much more usable, ive got an 02 kdx

u cant go wrong with a newer CR250. At the harescrambles around here, 1/4 of the bikes there are 01' CR250's. I dont know why but there a dam good chioce. Also u dont need flywheel weight unless u really want it. The only thing i did to my bike was changed the gearing , and it it's great in the bush(harescrambles etc).:cool:
