My 96 kdx is not running right in the midrange. It runs nice and smooth down low and screams hard and smooth up top, but it does not run very smooth in the midrange. When it seems the power should start to come in, it runs kind of ruff and choppy. Any ideas or more info that would help? Thanks!

You might get some good responses if you include:

1. Describe the noise the engines makes @ mid range
2. Any carburetion details?
3. Have you tried any plug chops?

Hope this helps

Can't use the edit/delete function!

An odd situation indeed. Usually the problem is one end or another, but the middle! Might want to look at slide valve & jet needle. Carb might just need a good bath. Try the following for additional help:

go to kdx tech tips at the home page or -

It just does not run smoothly. Like it cuts out for a split second. I have not really tried anything yet. I suppose my first step will be to clean the carb out.
