I know JTT and I were exchanging some PM's about boots last week. Well I ordered mine on Thursday afternoon and they came today. Gaerne Lampkin oiled leather from MX South. I ordered my street shoe size which is a 10 and they are a little big but with a MX sock should be just fine. They feel about the same as my size 10 T8's in length but are as comfortable as a pair of Nike's. I plan to try them out this weekend providing it's not polar bear weather again.:)

I've got the Sidi Trial Zero boots which have a Gortex type liner - very comfortable and waterproof - unless you go swimming!!

I'd recommend these boots to anyone, as they really are waterproof. It is very nice to have dry feet especially as most trials over here seem to include some sort of creek to splash about in.

What are the "Novagar" boots like?

Wayneg, is the "Trials Zero" boot the same as the "Discovery"?

I ordered some Alpinestar "No-Stop" but the sizing is way off in the metric translation. They were way too big so I'm waiting for my reorder. Tech 8s are a little too stiff for a trials bike.

Yes I think the boots I have are called Sidi Discovery over in the US. They are about $20 more expensive than the Trial Zero, but they have the waterproof lining.

The Novogar boots seem to be very similar to the Gaerne boots in construction, and have only just become available over here. They are much cheaper than the other brands, but seem well made and comfortable.
There is also a cheaper model of Gaerne which is oiled rather than pigmented leather which are much the same as their Balance model just a bit cheaper for those on a tight budget.

I chose the Sidi boots because we have a lot of wet trials over here especially in winter, and I like dry feet!! The boots themselves didn't seem to need to break in, and are very comfortable. The soles seem to be wearing well, and are replaceable if needed. I have had these boots for about two years now, and when clean they still look pretty much like new - minus a few scratches from the odd crash.

Thanks for the info. Sidis are apparently available here too, so my choices are opening up. I love my Sidi Mtn bike shoes (on my second pair).

i bought hebo boots from trials training center, seem to be good quality and they were reasonably priced.
