Thanks for the pic. Is it just a matter of removing the camera from velcro and reapplying it to change the angle?

I upgraded to Studio Version 7. Get it sooner than later, you won't be disappointed. The main feature that you will find is the ability to slow down and speed up your clips. Also, it does scrolling credits, and has better edits including 3-D hollywood type edit effects. These are basically like the transitions that were used on the TV show Home Improvment when the went to commercials. You know, the picture would fold up into a paper airplane and then fly off of the screen, it's that kind of stuff.

The fundamental functionality of the product is better in Studio 7. PC magazine rated Studio 7 as the number on consumer video editor out there.

I love it because it has great features, but it's not too complicated. I can edit a lot of tape in a short amount of time.

Keep the vids coming. I'm going to be making some new dirt bike vids after I get my computer set up at my new house.

Yes, to a degree. I don't want the camera hanging off at too big an angle from the velcro even though the stuff is not regular velcro, it's much stronger. I'm going to move the camera to the bottom of my helmet this afternoon. I'll go out and test it tomorrow. I got a day off for movie making! :) I've got a great boss!

Timr, I read the PC magazine blurp on Studio 7 before I had the camera. I am planning on getting it. I have a friend in Washington who has the same setup as me, but upgraded to 7. I've seen the extra stuff that can be done with it.


I'd love to see some of your videos.

where did you get the cam from, how much, that was AWESOME i have to get one like right now. Do you have any problem with riding with the camera in a backpack, how did you set that up? All info would help out a bunch because that was the greatest form of advertising for that helmet cam, I feel the need to buy one right this second. thanks in advance

Very nice job John. Your combination of music and bike sounds is really good.

It's tough to get a good perspective of where your riding with a camera but the high res video made me feel like I was there a few times. I found my head bobbing up and down with a couple of them gullies.

Next time you see your shadow up front make sure he waves. :)

I think I said it before ? but I'll say it again, I want to ride with you ! man does that look like fun!!!!!! bet ya those hills are tough on tires? you really take your time going around brush, are they full of thorns? riding up the ridge of those mountains are they as freaky (drop off's) as they look on video ? your video's really give me a better flavor of what desert riding is all about. now I need to watch on any sunday again, thanks for the extra effort!

Come on out 70 marlin, I think I read somewhere you have more vacation time than you know what to do with. :)

Those trails rip up tires quick. Everything that lives in the desert is extremely tough, or has thorns. Looking at the video doesn't really do justice to the terrain. The hills are much steeper than they look, and the drop off are much more vertical in places.

I'd love to go visting :>) you might notice, that it dose'nt say more $$$$ than I know what to do with :<( I'd want a couple weeks out there to really get the feel of the place plus I'd like to drag my boat with me to, for the Colorado river!!!!!!!! they say it's jetboat heaven. what tires do you use? I've got a brother that I might be able to talk into split the gas with? if I ever do, you can bet that I'll be lining up loops all the way out there! with DRN you could have the best loops from coast to coast!

As said before, great job John. I wish the camera showed better perspective because the trail looked flatter than what the engine was doing. Maybe I should try closing one eye when I'm riding and see if it will make things look flatter. ;-)

So are you making a new website Arizonatrailtalk.com?

I'd like to know the answer to the tire question as well. Even though I'm up here in N. California it seems my backyard is nothing but sharp shale rock and I bet you know what tires survive better than others.

One last thing, what file size are these mpgs?

Yep, there's no doubt about it. The camera doesn't do justice to the steepness of hills. But you can get an idea from the sound of the bike. That's why I didn't add music.

I've been using the Dunlop 755 on the front for years. But now I'm getting insane deals on off brand tires, (anything other than Dunlop :D ) so I just ordered a Pirelli MT 44 to try on the front. I use the Dunlop 739 desert AT on the rear. But I'm looking at others right now too. I stretch the rear out to three months, I really need a new one after about two. And I get five or six months out of the 755.

John, what did you do different with the camera position on the hillclimb vids? I notice that the visor isn't in the picture any more.

That's the problem we had with our videos-- the visor gets in the way!


bscottr-- Not many rocks in Singletracker's vid! When we get ours posted, then you'll see rocks! :eek:

Lori, I moved the camera down to the bottom edge of my helmet on the left side. I couldn't stand looking at my visor in the video either!

I'd love to see some of your footage. Do you have it up on the net somewhere??

Looks much better from that angle, we'll have to try it.

Our stuff isn't ready yet. We just got the Firewire card, and need to clear some space on the hard drive for video editing! :eek:

We'll post as soon as it's ready.
