Actually, through trial and error with my cam, I've found that he's got it adjusted just about right. You want just a tad of the horizon visible. Otherwise, you get too much sunlight and it makes the terrain too dark, among other annoying light-related disfugalties.

Cool vid...try this music

Using the helmet cam is awesome. Seems like a great way for people to share their riding expierences first hand. Maybe I'll get a helmet cam and you guys can see what it is like to whipe out all the time :D

Oh, and if you need some long songs, try Metallica's "Call of the Ktulu". It is just music, no words, about 7 minutes long if I remember correctly.

Pat B is probably right, any higher angle on the cam and ur probably gonna get glare. It just FEELS like I'm being forced to watch the fender.
I just hope singletracker takes this as positive feedback toward his totally COOL videos!!

bscottr, you'd better stop watching video! ;)

Pat, good point, but I think I can go just a little higher. There's a little too much bike in the vid.

marcv125, thanks! :)

RoosteR13, take you bike, and make a side trip. You'll be glad you did. :)

Staley8, thanks for the music tip. I've never listened to Metallic before. I think I'll download somemore of their stuff and check it out.

I just hope singletracker takes this as positive feedback toward his totally COOL videos!!

Absolutely! Don't give it a second thought! I need feedback.

marcv125, I'm going to try to replace the first white Tanks vid tonight. If not, I'll have it done by tomorrow night. I'm going to stream it with the program Okie told me about.

ST500,
No can do man. Just got broadband and new PC with 80 Gig HD. :) :) This is the way the internet was meant to be! BTW, I'm getting to know the White Tank trails pretty good.

yzeater,
A heads up you may try; Do a search on your computer for media files with your media player to indicate the folder where they were downloaded. Once you find them you can rename, email or whatever you want with 'em. I just did a search for all media files with my RealOne Player and it indicated where ST500's files were saved on my HD.

Or you can try this:

When you play the file, note the name of the file. Then do a file search under the start menu for that file name. It will give you the name of the folder where the file was down loaded. For example, my Real One player saves the videos to C:\My Music.

Good Luck,
Scott

Scott

I know what you mean! I can't get my fill either. I was planning on putting up a couple of new ones this evening, but I'm not going to have time. I've been working to make a one hour VHS movie out of Sundays ride for a friend who came to ride from Europe. She's going home in a couple of days, so I need to get it finished. I'm about two thirds done right now. I'll have at least two more up by tomorrow night. I bought another 100 gigs of space on the net to load them to. Plus a second 80 gb harddrive to store the raw video for editing.

dave186, I'm using Studio DV. It came with the firewire and card. It's a Pinnacle Systems product. I am planning on getting the Studio 7 upgrade sooner or later. Right now, this is good enough. It's a fairly easy program to learn. And that's just what a computer spode like me needs!

Yes, I bought a Sharp VL WD450U mini DV. It was reasonably priced.

Sorry...100Mb, not Gb. My mistake! :silly:

Here's a couple more as promised. I streamed these with the program Okie told me about. They're still large files, just not quite as large as they were.

Singletracker excellent videos. The compromise between music and bike is better. IMHO i would still like to hear the bike a little more ;) but those are some good videos. Im glad somone is going to get new videos often. Very cool man.

ST500,
Very nice, have a little Mojo on me! I like those trails....open, no trees to hit. Wait a minute; I can see me stuck to those two cactus bushes on the left like Velcro, just waiting for someone to peel me off. :whiner:

Of course if I was riding with you it'd be on tape. :scream: But since you are a good guy you wouldn't post it on the web would ya? You darn right you would and I would too! :) :)

Can you post a still pic of your helmet sitting on something level? I'd like to see the angle of the camera. This is going to be fun....

Scott

Haven't you crashed with it on? We need a new thread with helmet cam crashes.

Cecil B. De Singletracker, great vids mate, my eyes hurt, had my face too close to the screen,
but I felt like I was there, good stuff.
Looked real green for desert, recent rain?
The cam seems to be mounted to the side of the helmet, i've seen footage from these before,
and it looked good too, mounted in mouthpiece of helmet.
Thanks again ST.
