Break in Time for CRF 450

I just got my new 03 crf 450 last week, I have about a hour and a half on it of the typical break in procedure. My question is when is it considered broke in? I just drained the oil and put in mobile one 15w-50 synthetic, what exactly are the ramifactions if a synthetic is used too soon (before break in is done). I have heard of some guys doing 3 oil changes before going to synthetic, which seems a little long IMO.

Rey, it seems like the CRF uses a little oil if you go to synthetic early on. I went ahead with 4 or 5 cycles of HP4 then switched to Mobil. It still used a little bit, but has since stopped. Rich, how bout you?

I picked up my '03 CRF last Tuesday, rode 15 minutes Tuesday night, about 40 minutes Wed. night, then raced the bike last Sunday after changing the oil and filter. I'm using HP4 without Moly, and HP4 with Moly for the transmission and engine oil.

Bike ran fantastic, other than the idle was alittle low, which caused me to stall two times in the same moto.

It's definitely broken in now!
