Building up from crank bearing swap and got a trans question ?

ok , heres some pics

I could click the shifter rod up and down and it didn'tseem to get into any gears . (Rookie @ 2 stroke building ). i don't wanna go any fahter till i no the trans is OK . I have a maunal and i'm sure i put it back together right . Is ther a way to test the trans ? I never did this before and so far the manual . hasen't really helped me that much . Considering EVERY JOB HAS A SPECIAL TOOL!!!!!!!!! :bang:

It seems to me if the shift drum dosn't rotate when you move the lever the two little pauls with there springs and little covers are not in correctly. If the drum is rotating then the shift forks are not ingaged to the drum correctly. By holding the output shaft and turning the input shaft you should be able to shift through all the gears. it may be notchey and you may have to turn both shafts at times but it should shift.
