Is it possible to burn a movie onto a CD that will work in a PS2? I have a CD burner but the CD burner program wont let me burn a movie. I've heard of VideoCDs but PS2 wont play them so it has to be a DVD. Do I need another program to burn it or do I need a different type of disc? Are there any programs I can download that will let me do this? Thanks for any advice.

I'm pretty sure that you actually have to burn movies to a DVD, not just a CD. You can buy blank DVD's at most electronics places. I also believe that you must have a specific device made for burning DVD's. I don't think it's possible to do it on a CD burner. DVD burners are fairly expensive, although I think some Mac's come with software that will do it.

You ccan also make Video CD's ... just a lot less space on a CD. Most newer (home audio/video) DVD players can play them as well as your PC's CD.

Nope, the only thing a PS2 plays would be a DVD. So its either a DVD burner or go buy yourself a Apex DVD player from Walmart, like $70 or so and it plays everything :) VCD, SVCD, MP3's, etc..

A ps2 wont play burned movies or games unless you put a mod chip in it. And you can burn a DVD on to a CD. You have to rip the dvd on to a computer and a change it to either vcd or svcd format. Then it will take 4 cds to recorde one dvd movie.

Um, its then not a DVD :) So no, you cannot burn a DVD to a CD. You can rip a DVD, to say DivX format, then copy that onto a single CD, sure.. But a straight copy? Nope...

No it won't work. Pretty much everything ripped from DVD is in DivX format. Your PS2 cannot decode that format...

And if your talking about any of the Crusty vids found on the net, they won't cause I know they are all Divx :) I have them all.. :yeehaw:
