If you want alcohol I'll have a recipe or two up my sleeve. ;) Are any of you shy about drinking Jager?

Jager? You're giving me Dirtweek flashbacks
Thanks again MrModine!

WE are camping and riding lot`s so let us know any time and we`ll accomodate.

Thanks, I might take you up on that when I get back. Hopefully they don't shut the bush down for fire season like last year.

Later.

I can't make it. I've been working nightshift that past week, and all of this week, so it's a no go. Plus I need a new rear tire. Hopefully I might be able to make it next year (I WILL be at the Ogopogo next year, unless I'm in Alberta all summer).

As for the beer comment, Canadian beer is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than that water you Americans call 'beer.' :D

Have a good ride,
Speedy

Now how would you know? Can you drink beer yet? (was thinking you were young)

Please don't judge our beer by Coors and Bud. The micros like Moose Drool, Mack and Jacks, etc are VERY tasty. In fact the fruity beer I brought was very popular with the Canuck crowd as I recall.

All beer was not created equal!

I will be up there tommoro night(wed) Hopefully there will be some others as well. Pinball and I went up there last night and finished cleaning up one of the loops.THe dirt is perfect, and best of all it started raining when we were on our way back. :) The route is marked from HWY97 with flourecent green arrows to the campsite. Also look for Canada Ride 2004 signs (white with black print)If there are any questions please post soon or we may not be here to answer them.Anyone who is interested in riding on Thursday, I will be there to guide if needed.Unfortunatly I got called to work on Friday and will have to leave and come back :( . Pinball and others will be available to guide on Friday. Its going to be a good weekend!! :aj: :yikes:

I'm done work Wednesday night, Thursday is the holiday and I took Friday off so I might show up Thursday, my other buddies will be coming Friday night. Didn't want to go up there early if nobody else was going to be there yet, LOL..

Speedymaniac, don't worry about the tire, come anyways. If you want a worn out but still semi-sharp Michelin S12 I'll bring one for you, it's for a 19" rim. It worked fine for me last time I was there. Besides, what else are you going to do all weekend? :p

Kokanee, what's the status with the campfire ban? I know it's in effect here and up the Fraser Canyon, but what about the Okanagan? Can we have any fire at all, even in a barrel or something?

Looks like my friend John and his son are coming after all. We will be leaving Eugene, OR Thursday morning and hope to arrive around 5:00 that evening. Bringing rum and juices for the BLENDER.

Where is the best / last place to get ice?

SpeedyManiac, still need a rear tire? I'm sure I have something in a medium size 18" we can throw in the trailer. Used, but the price is right - free.

Campfire - yes/no/maybe?

Bob? As in Bonehead's friend Bob? You and Belle are coming? YEAH!!!! I can't wait to see you guys there! Are you guys bringing any of Johnny's home brew??? That stuff is sooooooooooooo good!

For open fire info someone who is showing up Thursday should stop by the ranger station and find out for sure.

I haven't seen any comments about this, but what are the bugs like up there right now? Are any of them biting? Flies, skeeters, etc???

Unfortunatly no campfires are allowed in our district. We have a house stereo and patio lanterns so they will have to do. :aj: The bugs aren't that bad but bring some repellant in case. Bob, you're best bet to get ice is at the Chevron in Westbank, thats where the distance directions start from. Anyone coming Wednesday night?

Thanks for the offers guys, but my tire is a 17 inch (which is a pain in the ass to find). I'm still trying to figure out a way, but it doesn't look good, with work and all.

FC22: Technically I'm not supposed to drink in BC (legal age is 19, I'm only 18) but I've been in Alberta at school the past 8 months where I can legally drink.

Thanks again for the offers guys, but it doesn't look good, with 4 hours travel time, work, tire, etc. Hope everyone has a good time up there, bear creek is an awesome riding area (especially if it rains).

I just got a call from Kokanee who is on his way up right now, and he said that someone has removed some of our signs(Canada Ride 2004) from the turnoff at HWY 97 and Westside rd. so pay attention to the instructions or if you get really lost try the bike shops, they know where it is.I will be putting new signs up tomorrow (up really high),hopefully they last the weekend! Oh yeah ,he said it had just poured , so heres hoping for little dust and mega traction!! see ya there!

Disaster! We have to be back in Oregon on Sunday afternoon, so we are going to Tillamook instead. Much closer since our weekend was suddenly shortened.

I hope everyone has a great time and look forward to pictures and stories .....

One more thing :clue:

There is a nice sandy beach at the bottom of the hill, we can swim in one of the best lakes in the country. If anyone is up for getting the riding done a bit early and booking it down to the lake for a couple hours in the mid-late afternoon make sure you're prepared, it's not a nude beach. :)

Not a nude beach? :ugg: What's the point then?

Sorry you can't make it Bob. I hope you and Belle have a great time.
