I'm trying. I also need a new rear tire if I do any serious riding, and I'm trying to save all my money for another year of university. I hope I can make it, but I'm not making any promises. Between work, parents and money, it's not looking hopeful, but my mom might cave if I help out around here a lot.

I'm unclear on a few things..

Are there any non-sissy trails?

Will there be any consumption of alcohol?

What time do the lights have to be turned out?

:laugh:

See you there!

Most of the trails are ones the Kokanee bushriders used for the ogopogo cross-country that they put on a few years ago ,with some new ones recently cut , so they are PNWMA race quality rides we`ll be going on.But they are all in the Bear Creek riding area that has riding for all skill levels.

I don`t know if we`ve mentioned "The Blender " in the previous pages ,but it is a 36 litre blender powered by any size dirtbike you want to put on it.Actaully we have two now ,so we will have an adult flavoured batch as well as a non-alcohol batch for the kids and nondrinkers.They both make 7/11 quality slurpees! Then after that you can drink whatever you bring as well.
If you have any ideas for a "Batch",bring your own flavours ,ice and booze and we`ll be more than happy to mix it up for you.
typical recipe;
-3 bags ice
-6-7 frozen fruit juices substitute; 3 juices for fresh fruit
-40 to 60 ounces booze ex.rum,vodka,tequila
So if you would like to pitch in ,bring ice, or juice and fruit,or your favorite liquor!

We have been known to stay up till 2:00 am then go on a quad ride till 6:00 am,but if you want to ride ,you`ll have to use some discretion.Or not!
If you`re there" to ride "and have family with you, just ask around before you set up camp and we`ll try to set you up in a "quiter" area.

I was up there two weeks ago, great place to camp and ride. Steer clear of the old 5th wheel trailer if it's still there, or else you'll have to suffer the company of some burnout hippy named Mike. Don't say I didn't warn you. Dude single handedly ruined the camping trip LOL.

More questions:

Temperatures and elevation?
Dusty and rocky or loamy woods riding?
Prices of liquor, beer, and gas, better to buy locally or bring from the US?
Creek or lake near camp for swimming or fishing?
What day is the Stupid Trail ride planned for?

Any special requests from our Canadian hosts?

Bob

Temps around 25-40C during the day (77-104F)
Elevation? My best guess would be around 2000-3000ft? The lake is at 1200ft...
gas prices are going down right now, currently at 93.5 cents/liter for regular (87 octane) or about $3.54 per gallon.
Huge, awesome lake about 15 minute drive from camp. Lake Okanagan, the best part of our valley. Fishing, swimming, power toy rentals, anything you want. Here is a pic of the lake I took from a riding area (not bear creek), Makes me want to go swimming just looking at it. http://groups.msn.com/KDXRidersCommunity/fattykspics.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1075

Is that picture taken from the peachland riding area? The trip should be a blast, I really hope I can make it, but if I do I won't know until the last minute, and I guess I'll need a new rear tire. This riding area is a lot of fun, the trails are great, and it should be a really good time!

Is the motocross track going to open during the long weekend?

Yes it was taken from Peachland. My best guess will be that the MX track will be open Sunday. I think the drop in fee is like $20. Bring your dust mask!

CYCLEBUY I'll try to answer your questions that I am able to in order..

Temps have been HOT lately, 100+. Elevation is ~3500ft so it might not be as hot up there.
For up to date weather conditions go to http://www.theweathernetwork.com, type in Kelowna in the search bar. The site is pretty conservative, often when it says 30 deg C it ends up being closer to 35.

Hopefully we'll get some rain next week, it's been really dry lately and there is a fire ban in effect.

Dusty and loamy conditions. The ground seems to be a good mixture of sand and clay. I rode there the day after it rained and there was mega traction, minimal rocks.

Liquor = $25-30 for a 26er
Beer = $35 for a 24 pack
Gas = $0.90/liter, diesel = $0.70/liter

Our dollar is equal to about 75 cents USD to give you an idea.

There's no creek within walking distance of the camp site unfortunately.

See you there! :aj:

It looks as though I'll be tagging along with Sharla on this one. Me and my tank are back in Washington. I have hockey skills and a stick or two that will come along. As for my soccer skills... well let's just say I'm used to hockey so if I hip check you and you bleed because of it, it's nothing personal. :nener:

Just for the record you Canadians know nothing about beer. If I can see through it I ain't drinking it. I'll pack along some Mississippi Mud Dark & Tan for your tasting pleasure. It even comes in a cool jug. ;)

I'll see you guys and gals there. :cool:

<shudder> I'll sit out on the Jager. It doesn't agree with me.

But I do still have a gallon of rum and a bottle of Bailey's so we'll be covered in the alcohol department.

And then it rained,I mean poured, it`s gonna be awsome riding next weekend. the forecast is for cloud and 20 to 25 degrees (70F) for the next couple of days then sunny for the weekend.
