i think 108 is right for the h models, but 110 for the e. fredette sent me a 108 by mistake and it wouldn't fit no matter what. if memory serves??John Cena said:I found out you need a 108 chain link for the 12/49 or 13/49 combo. I don't no what stock length is.
But I won a new 108 link gold x ring chain on e-sway for $35 usd   I just wanted to make sure it would fit before I bid on it :)
John---There are a number of options on the H model, but I believe stock is 13/47 520 108 link. My E model, like your '92 is 13/47 520 110 link. A 108 just won't reach---even if you scootch the back wheel as far forward as possible. I may be wrong, but gearing the bike to 12/49 needs a longer chain by necessity(guessing here). If a 108 won't work stock, it certainly won't work in this case. Hope I'm wrong---but I'm pretty confident about this. Good luck! For what it's worth, my bike had a fairly worn 12/49 combo. It's when I replaced everything with 13/47 108 link that I realized Fredette sent me the wrong chain---just wouldn't fit. I returned it and he sent a 110---fit like a glove!John Cena said:What sprocket combo did you try putting the 108 chain on?
