I am about to install some 49mm Conventional Showas on the XR400. Custom triple clamps will be made. I now have the opportunity to change the triple clamps offset. Should I ? I ask because changing offset seems to popular on other bikes, especially KTMs. Can I improve on the XR handling if I change the offset.
Standard is 24mm. The new clamps will have to be about less than this to maintain the current geometry.
What do the experts think ?
