what retains the inner tube from slidding out????

trying to replace seal and used to the none inverted style fork
do you remove the tube end that clamps on the axle or is there a lock ring under the oil seal ??>??

You do not have to remove your end clamps on the fork. First get out the internals till you just have the upper and lower tubes. Remove the dust seal and circlip at the junction. After you do that you can pull the tubes a part with a quick strong pull. If it is giving to problems, lightly heat up around the junction and then try to puu them apart again.
