Tyler Evans looked really good in practice until
... the opening ceremony where he looked like a complete idiot.

No comment for Marcus other than, it used to be 1 lap, then it was 20, now it's 1 race, next it'll be one championship, then 4 championships ...

BTW, imagine the spanking if JBS had a front brake.

Is RC gonna be on a lawn boy or what?

I'm sure he'll be a thumpin. Maybe Bubba will close out the 2 smokes as the last 125 and 250 outdoor Champ??

You would think Bubba won a title, with the way you guys are acting. He has 1 250 win and 2 125 titles, in case you forgot.

Rat is right- no one ever denied JBS wasnt the fastest rider on the planet, but you have to finish 16 races to be champ. So far, he has finished 2 and the others about 11-12!

See Bubbas holeshots in his heat and the main?? If he does that outdoors, that will have a lot of 450 :ride: riders scratchin their heads. I wonder if the AMA will then pass a rule that allows for turbos??........ :)

I think if you check the lap times, you'll notice JBS crusing the last 2-3 laps, showing some of the restraint most say he doesn't have.

just my .02
but crusing only due to not having the shape to go all 20 laps hard. I understand bubba is fast and will win alot. but crusing or not Reed was making up time and he was taken out by a lap rider - he did not crash because he can't run bubba's speed.

Kawboys swept both mains! :D

Still, RC is the man. He was amazingly gracious to James Stewart at the end of the race. Kudos to RC. He was hammering at the end and Chad Reed knew it...so much so he was looking backwards towards RC for a while before he fell over. Funny stuff afterwards.

The premier Supercross class is dominated by 2 strokes indoors, get over it! :)

The support class Kawasaki/Suzuki 250F twins swept the podium. Impressive! Davi Millsaps is entertaing as heel to watch ride!

Joah Hansen has worn out his welcome in the support class. If he takes out someone else (needlessly) again he may get his pencil neck wrung no matter who his father is. (We love ya Donnie!)

...as you were.

I thought it looked like Reed ran into the back of Travis Preston, Preston was holding his line, up too Reed too get by..

They mentioned something about Hansen and Josh Grant going at it in teh tunnel after the race.. ANd Hansen has got a warning from WHitlock..

Sorry man... that's just wrong. Read the threads in here about RC playing to win the championship, letting Reed go by (which he did at Dallas), etc... there is a time to go balls out and then cruise to the flag. McGrath made a freakin career of that. Why hang it out if you don't have to?

One of the complaints about Stewart has been him wanting to win by as much time as possible, everytime out.

I think that Bubba is in shape, as good as shape as anyone. The last few laps when Reed was gaining on him looked more like Bubba not pushing it to eliminate mistakes, and win the race, not because he was tired. He is learning (in his own words) that he doesn't need to push as hard as he thought he would need to since he's coming in late in the series. He was expecting to need to ride on the edge, when it turned out, that he didn't need to, to win. He's just faster than he needs to be.

Edit. (in his own words) wasn't his actual words, but the meaning of what he said. He basically said (from the way I took it), is that RC and CR weren't as fast as he expected them to be this late in the series.

I with you on that. I'd bet my last dollar you'll never see that kind of conduct from Bubba. A few years ago RC was labeled around here as the guy that "didn't represent the sport well" (anybody that was around here in 2001 should remember that). Looks to me like he has represented the sport very well.

What was that comment Bubba made? I can't quote it but it was something like I thought these guys would be faster.

Anyone notice early in the main that Bubbas front brake assembly was loose and moving up and down on the bar? To ride at the pace he did with that going on, is really something!

Man oh man I have to say JBS is the man. No matter What ever you guys say JBS is the man and the future of this sport. As far as I can tell there is three races in the 250 class JBS, RC and CR and windom with the rest of the field. I think JBS is a Diamond in the rough. That guy is in a whole another catagory than the rest. Man next Satarday I will see these guys in person. All I can say is nice to See green. Don't get me wrong RC is the man also but I think he got a reality check at Dallas.
MX is going to be another story. I love the too smoke but I don''t think it is going to be competive against the thumpers in the long strait aways. Long live the smoke. :aj:

He's finished 3 mains, which coincidentally is the same number that he's been on the gate for.

It's difficult for a person to finish something he never started. Do you perchance work as some kind of political spin doctor?

Photos of Dallas SX can be found here.

They show in reverse order so start with page 3 (first image) and work your way backwards through page 1.

That's what I hate about taking pics, you can't enjoy the show as much. Wish I could see them. :(

Well, I tell you what. That is quite an experience. My wife and girls enjoyed the whole deal, and were mad when I told them it was the last race.
Bubba sure looked good. We were 16 rows up on the opposite side of the stadium from the sand section (with the step on step off section and the triple) and Bubba was just hauling over the step on/off section. He was so far ahead by the second or third lap that he never really had to do the "scrub" over the triple. An excellent weekend! Thanks again to Twinspar and JeffD for facilitating the pit passes, and to Okie for getting them to me. Sorry I never made it back for some grub, but we spent a lot of time in the pits, then decided to head in to the stadium to chack everything out. Hopefully we can get down there again, and we all won't be so star struck and be able to hang out with you guys more. :aj: Jerry

My observations from 1,500 miles away…

JBS’s speed from the hole-shot was unreal. It looked like he was on a 250 and everyone else was on a 125. The speed he carried through the first turn, in and of itself, gave him a 2 second start from the first lap.

All season long I’ve been hearing how RC learned the “Bubba scrub” and was using it to good effect. Indeed, he did and was. But wouldn’t ya know it, Bubba changed the bubba scrub. JBS kept so low on the jumps he made ‘em look like whoops.

Reed looked great! I was so sad to see him make that mistake during the final lap, but that’s racing. I was happy that he was able to stand on the (short) box though.

The 125 East series has been a lot of fun to watch. Every week there is a new hero.

ESPN2 sucks.

Heath Voss was the highlight rider of the week. That dude lives some life. Dang.

At the end of the 250 Main I thought they were showing clips from DW03 of Pred and Milk, but soon realized that it was JBS and RC hugging. RC is smart to “embrace” the future king of SX.

My observations from Wisconsin, hey.

I recorded the races to see them later in the day, as this was one of the first really nice week ends in the great cold north.

I got to see the entry level 250's, and then the heats of the big bikes, which was some great racing,.. The main, engines racing, gates ready to drop..., :yikes: up pops SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS

I think RC should have given Bubba a thumbs up and headed off the track. Instead he jumps in the picture...stealing Bubba's thunder and holding hands, huggin...etc... Please. RC just wanted some spotlight too.

ALL Bubba. He was the man. No denying it. RC looked off an on. Very off in the heat race. Looked like he was settling in for a while in 3rd, then started pushing and quickly gained on Reed. But I don't think he could have beaten Reed....that is if Reed didn't tangle with the lapper.

Reed was looking great. Just sucks so bad that he ran 19 great laps with one bobble and then washed in on the last one. He never relaxed and was riding at his full potential the whole race. Yes he was pulling in Bubba, but it was due to Bubba relaxing a bit. Like it was said elsewhere....even if Reed got in sight of Bubba, Bubba would have just kicked it up a notch.

Reeds head is still as clear as it was when the season started. He'll just swallow this pill and bring it next time. RC's head is getting messed up though. Bubba looks like he could care less about the mental game and is having fun riding.

There's always next week.

Micah

P.S. For the Reed wash-out....it was Reeds fault. He was too preoccupied with RC on his butt and looks to have misjudged right were he was at. The lapper was in the way, but if Reed paid a little more attention he would have been fine
