mafols,

What days are you thinking of riding this week? I'm hoping to ride a couple of days during the week. Possibly tomorrow and Thursday, not sure yet. I might bring 1 or 2 of my sons as well.

Jim: you gonna ride any during the week? Or will you be defending against the latest lawsuits?

Dad and I made it out today(Monday) but I could only stop puking long enough for half a loop through Pete's Gate, then we headed home. Hated to do it becuae the weather was perfect, though still very dusty. Hopefully next time out will go a little better.

James: welcome to the board. You'll find a lot of good guys here to ride with. Then there's Brian . . . just kidding. Congrats on the 450. I think you'll really enjoy that four-stroke power. I might make it out this Friday, possibly. Probably can't make it Saturday or Sunday, though next Monday is a possibility. Went yesterday to a small private motocross track and rode around a couple hours. Whew! Motocross is exhausting. It was fun, though. Alan is going out to Muenster today (Tuesday), so look him up if anyone's going out.

I'll be at Muenster tomorrow with a couple of my sons. We'll be down near the big pavillion with either a white Nissan Frontier, or a Suburban with a trailer.

I'll be taking my whole family riding either Saturday at Barnwell, or possibly Monday at Muenster.

Seldon, you be careful on that big 650. My friend Rick looped his XL650 Friday and hurt his back. He was letting his son ride his new 450E/XC, and he came over a hill on that 650 a bit too fast and looped it on the downhill side. That big heavy bike danced on him a bit and gave him a couple of minor compression fractures. Luckily, no nerve damage. He still wants to ride, when he heals up in a month or so.

Holy crap. That's nuts about Rick. Hope all is well with him.

JMD--Did I hear you mention Monday, Jan 2nd? I'm all over that. I was hoping that a group would be going then. I'm afraid the place will be insane-crazy on Sunday, Jan 1st. So is that a plan for the 2nd?

My neighbor might be up for Monday, too. He hasn't been riding in at least a year. He's got a pretty sweet KTM450 with an auto-clutch on it.

Monk: Yeah, too bad about Rick. But the doc told him to just refrain from heavy lifting for month and he'll be OK. Rick has a good attitude: he said that next time he won't go so fast on an unfamiliar trail. He thinks that if he had been on his 450 his forks might not have bottomed, sending him over the bars. Anyway, I'm going riding Monday, either at Muenster or at Kiamichi. I'd really like to take Jimmy there before he leaves for college on the 5th; he's never ridden there. So I'm thinking that I might go up Sunday night and ride Monday. If that doesn't work out, it will be Muenster. Want to hit the Kiamooch?

That's too bad about Rick. I'm glad he wasn't hurt more seriously. The big XR is definitely a bike to get very familiar with before you start to push it. Once you know what to expect, you handle most anything that comes.

I'm amazed at how fast you can ride that massive beast, Seldon. I'm hoping Rick doesn't have any long-term problems with his back.

I don't think I'm up to the Kiamooch just yet. I'm afraid that once I cross that very, very faint "overnighter" line, I'm doomed. I have to pay with a full day of baby sitting for every day of solo-riding I do. I don't know what the penance will be if I go overnight.

Anybody else up for Monday at Muenster?

I think I'll go to Muenster Saturday, with my four kids, and hit the Kiamooch on Monday.

JMD -- I've got permission to go to Kiamichi Sunday night! I'll give you a call tonight or tomorrow to figure out logistics.

Monk, that's terrific. Rick is letting me borrow his '05 450E/XC so that I'll have a bike for me and my three boys. So I can't crash that thing. Glad you can go. I'll stay in touch.

Jim,

I'm thinking of bringing my wife and kids (my three sons and three older daughters) up to Muenster Saturday. We'll bring our barbecue grill and some hot dogs, burgers, and stuff and spend the day riding and eating!

If you'd like, we could meet up at a spot near the pavilion and you'd be welcome to use our grill. :yeehaw:

Oh My God!!!!

Just got back from Muenster.... :yikes:

To see the coarse layed out for LMS was truly unbelievable. I know many of you have been riding this place for years...( my first time  ) but I'd be willing to bet that some of you would never have dreamed of riding some of the terrain the coarse went through. To stay that those guys are truly amazing is the understatement of the year. Props...to the guys that even finished more than one loop....those guys are really the best of the best.

You guys that have followed the arrows since the race ,know what I'm talking about....you guys that ride Muenster owe it to yourself to get out their before someone takes the arrows down.

We had a great time....you North Texas guys have a great place to ride

Thanks for the experience

Matt

I was out there yesterday, riding as much of the course as I could. After going through several very grueling climbs/descents in the afternoon, I decided two things:

1. Nobody rides trails like this for fun! This was laid out just to eliminate racers!
2. I'm going to go ride something else!

It was fun seeing what they had to ride, at race speeds no less!

Hey sg, you're right about nobody riding it for fun....no one human, that is....guys like us are mere mortals ;) As for being layed out to eliminate riders...hence the name>>>>LMS

Sorry I missed ya', I was already away from the computer by the time you posted earlier in the week.

Cool, Seldon! See you there. I'll be there early with my three boys and my daughter and five bikes.
