What a race! Way to go GOAT. Glad James is ok, and Chad got a taste of riding doped up with pain killers! I'll bet he felt no pain, but had to be feeling weak. Got to give him credit for being willing to go through that.

RC is the man!

G. O. A. T.

That digger that James took was U-gly. Glad he rode away from it. And how about Reedy toughing it out.

Just to beat the crowd, I want to be the first to call Reed a sandbagger...JK.
Glad to see RC break another record. Can't believe JS blew another one (even up front)... and damn it I wish TP would have stayed up in the heat and raced that hard in the main!

26 points on JS, and 6 rounds to go. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

No way is Stewart going to take home the # 1 plate.

I think JS is a great racer, and certainly the next big thing, but where are his cheerleaders ?????

RC for the crown, and personally I hope he retires, but a close second choice would be to run the # 1 plate next year !!!!

I think James with all the winning tools he got, lucks self control and it has cost him the championiship. I give all the credit to Ricky, he is the true champion and this championiship is already rapped up , iam looking forward to the outdoors.

No doubt that Ricky has the potential to win the championship, but leading by 2 points is not exactly what I'd call wrapped up.

I thought I remember Steve Whitlock being asked if a backflip in competition was in the future (a while back). And he said maybe. TP appeared to be all by himself when he did it and only hurt himself (pride anyway, I don't think you could fall off a motorcycle any smoother than he did!). James just hit a bad spot on the track. If you watched when Chad and RC came by James just after his wreck, Chad almost endoed over the bars as well....very similar to how Bubba went over.

I'm not a big Reed fan by any means but kudo's to him for toughing that one out and keeping his hopes alive. I've separated and dislocated my shoulders more times than I care to recall playing hockey and I can't even imagine getting on a bike a day or two later never mind race a SX.

Chad was definately feeling it. His handlebars flopped to the right on just about every jump I saw at the beginning.

Wow! What a race. Lots of drama. I actually expected JBS to take this one. He really has a problem. I don't know what it is with that kid. He just has to see himself as the fastest guy, and he seems to lack the discipline to keep it under control. I hope he doesn't wind up really hurt. You can't keep walking away from crashes like that. By the way, Travis's flip crash looked like it was going to be really ugly, but the downslope of the double saved him, gave him room to finish rotating and let the bike pass over him without pile-driving him into the ground. Kudos to Reed; he's a tough guy, and now has the only realistic hope of catching Ricky, unless the champ makes a big mistake.

RC is only up 1 point and lots can happen in six rounds. Wrapped up? Hardly

If Chad had sat out the race, the season would be over. I'm glad he stepped up, and I'm a huge RC fan. Just like Chad would not want to win due to a fuel penalty, I am sure RC would much rather have Chad out there than sitting in the semi.

I doubt if RC will worry too much about Bubba from here on out.

As for JBS - he showed some guts to come back from that crash and finish up strong.

And to everyone who likes to point out how much faster JBS is than RC - don't you ever wonder just how fast RC could go if he was willing to throw it away every single race?

TP - Added a lot of excitment to the event. The guy can still get through the whoops as well as anyone. But I hate it when he qualifies for the main and DNS. WTF, Mate?

The AMA SHOULD ban backflips ASAP. That's all we need - kids getting killed and maimed trying to emulate TP's backflip at the races. Plus you have courseworker and spectator safety to think about.

Another moment of AMA stupidity, and total BS...

While I agree atempting to do a backflip over the finish line jump is crazy, I also think doing Can Cans, Nac Nacs, and inverted table tops are crazy too. Why take a chance on crashing after the finish and screwing up your next race.

the AMA does not stop any other riders from doing those things. And when MC first starting doing the Nac Nac for the fans, it was even a more radical move for its day than back flips are today.

Enough rant,,

The race as I saw if from the stands.

.. TP was awesome in his heat race, he and Hot Sauce had a great battle, Tedesco was faster over most of the course but TP caught him in the whoops. TP was the fastest through the whoops of anyone on the track all night, right up until he augered in.. Had he been going as fast in the Semi as he did in the heat race I think he would have beat Reed. Still don't know why he didn't ride the final, He really did look fine after the semi.

Reed did look a little out of it everytime they interviewd him, good drugs I guess. Heck of a ride after a shoulder seperation.

Well, Bubba made it through the first turn. That crash was nasty,, and I noticed that moment just after JBS when down when Reed went by and almost did the same thing. It took JBS awhile to shake that off, lucky he hit on a tuff block that took some of the momentum away, had he went straigh to the ground or hit the cameraman it could have been alot worse. Not sure if he was back up to full speed after or not, but he seemed to slow a little the last few laps,, he actually seemed to take awhile getting around Tedesco.

Speaking of Hot Sauce,, he crashed in the first corner and had a great ride to make back to 6th temporarily until Bubba past him.. Still last to 7th, a very good ride.

But RC was fast, and just fast, every lap much like the last.. And when he saw Bubba and realize he had a chance to lap him,, you could see him pick up the pace.

DV didn't make the cut in his heat,, had a nasty crash in the Semi, and got a bad start in the LCQ and just quit after on lap.

The Lites,,

Milsaps was just a step above, he was as fast as Grant over most the track, but would pull away a little in the whoops every lap, he was the only lite that looked smooth through the whoops, and he appeared to be as fast there as Bubba or RC.. Looking forward to Davi moving up to the 250s,, I think he will quickly be as fast as Hot Sauce and CR once he moves up.

Grant was solid, and great race for the Goose. Gosler put on a good solid ride but it is a good thing he doesn't have to rely on his ability to open champain bottles, he wouldn't have made the main. :rotfl:

Not sure what happened to Hansen? One minute he was on the track the next he wasn't.

Yep - it kinda slows your average lap time when you're laying on the ground.

I could probably cut my lap times by 2 seconds a lap if I was willing to crash every 4th time on the track. I'm not. Apparently Bubba is.
