Destroyed a shock...Need help

Hey Guys-
I was trying to disassemble a shock from a 94 YZ250 for a project I'm working on. Unfortunately I managed to strip something out really really bad. I think it's the bladder cap. Here are pictures:

So here's the problem: I still need to use this shock. Is it possible for me to somehow reinsert the cap and seal it up so that it will hold pressure? I was thinking that some type of welding would fix this. Maybe just pounding it in and then using some type of epoxy? Basically I don't know what to do. Any help is hugely appreciated.

Go to a machine shop where they will be able to clean the thread that is left. The next time you screw it back on you can use teflon tape to take up the slack. You may want to use a drop of lock tite to make sure it won't back out.
