Differences between 94 KDX200 and 95 or newer KDX200?

Hi guys,
I'm considering getting a KDX200 as my next bike, and have a few questions. I test rode a 94 model, and man was that gas tank WIDE! I couldn't get forward on the bike because it was so wide. I'm wondering if the 95 and newer models have a narrower gas tank than the 94? Thanks.

I know this isn't what you were asking but it does relate to getting forward on the KDX. I have the newer style, a 1999 KDX220. When I installed the tall seat foam, I immediately noticed that the foam was narrower and since it was a flatter seat across the top and not curved like riding a banana, I could get way forward on the thing. Just something to think about: taller foam allows you to get further forward.

Thanks. Hopefully I can find a 95 or newer KDX now (which could be tough, because they stopped importing them to Canada in 97). Either that or maybe a KTM200EXC, but those are pretty pricey. Thanks again for the info.

They stopped bringing in the 200, I think. They still have the 220, but the newest 200 I've seen in my area was a 94, and I haven't seen any newer ones at any of the races.

what year did they have a 250 with upside down forks was it the 95?
