Disablility Insurance

Has anyone had disability insurance cover a dirt bike racing injury?
My agent said mine would not cover me riding my bike! That sucks, it is why I got it in the first place.

Read the fine print.... Ask your agent to show you the specific exclusions that would deny coverage.

If you race probably not. Keep in mind unless it's short term disability there is usually a 30, 60 or 90 day waiting period before pay out benefits kick in.

If dirt bike injuries aren't specifically excluded in the policy, you would have to sign a specific waiver for dirt bikes. The waiver is pretty common if you race, not sure about just riding for fun.

I was run into by a rider trail riding and broke my femur. I was on disability for 9 months until my doctor released me. A friend of mine broke his femur racing a local national motocross race and disability covered him. We are in California and I am not aware of any exclusions to disability if a doctor says you cannot work.
