Does the rev pipe and turbine II realy make a difference?

Does the FMF rev pipe and turbine core II really make a difference in power or does it just make the bike louder for crying out loud.
I have an 05 kdx 200 and would like to do this mod BUT I have a buddy in a different state with the same bike (stock) and he swears that all it did was make his bike louder.
Someone help a man out and please tell it like it really is.

The pipe alone makes a HUGE difference. It's one of the single biggest bolt on performance gains you will find. The silencer really doesn't do much for performance. If it were me, I'd run the FMF with the stock silencer first. Later you can upgrade the silencer if you want, but don't expect a huge performance increase from it.

julien_d is right on with that advice.........HUGE difference for me also and I still run the stock silencer too....

the pipe will do a lot, but the muffler very little (apart from minor weight savings and a few more decibels....)
my opinion.

Just be sure to rejet when you add the rev pipe!

Gentlemen, Thanks for the advice.... I am going to buy the REV pipe alone and use my stock silencer.
