dowel pins

i needed to remove the dowel pins in my cylinder head. I just tried looking for for replacment ones on bikebandit. I can't buy the pins that go inside my cylinder head, i can only buy the ones that go into the bottom of the cylinder. I can't reuse the ones i pulled out because they were the original ones since 1985 and were tough to get out and there all chewed up now. Are the dowel pins in the bottom of the cylinder the same size as the ones in the cylinder head? Can i use other pins from later model bikes? Any info would help. thanks!!!

I don't think it goes in your head! The ones in top of the cylinder are for the head, and the ones in the cases is for the cylinder.

hhmm, so maybe they were just fused that way after time. What about the new dowel pins? am i screwed or do i just get the same ones that connect the case to the cylinder.

Microfiche I looked at says they are the same and shows them properly in place(proscource on line)
