DR125 electrical problem

Hope someone can help!!

I have restored an 86 DR125. When I started it for the first time the lights (front and rear) went from dull on idle to extremely bright when the rev's increase, then both bulbs blew. I have checked part drawings and can't seem to find a voltage regulator anywhere. Is the regulator internal?
I checked the wires with a tester and the the voltage climbs from approx. 10v on idle to approx. 30v at 1/4 - 1/2 throttle.

Any help would be great.

anything that looks like this on your bike?? this site is in the netherlands but i would imagine if you google "dr125 voltage regulator" and sort the result longer than i did you can find a US company selling the same thing.
