Just purchased a used yz250 and drained the oil. I have two problems....1) it seemed to have water in the oil and it was a pinkish color WTF....and 2) putting the drain bolt back it would not get tight...WTF...took it back off and noticed threads in the bolt from the casing. What can I do. This is my first dirt bike and I'm a little upset to see these two problems. Thanks in advance for your help. :whiner: :whiner:

Pinkish color prolly cuz the previous owner used ATF in the gearbox. Not a big deal, mostly preference. Do a search on the topic and you will find a bunch of posts. Water in the gear oil....Did the bike take a swim? Previous owner go nuts at the car wash? Water pump seal gone bad? I'd start with the water pump. Drain the radiators and look for oil in the coolant as well.

Do a search on heli coil. Those drain bolt threads seem to be a prettly common problem, after you fix it use a torque wrench when retightening.

Good luck.

Time-sert is another altenative to the heli-coil
