I miss the days when this was a dirt bike board, instead of a dumping ground for whiners, drooling idiots, agenda toting cranks, and religious zealot losers. :|

Personally, I could do without the off-topic forum b/c it lends itself to rubish.

Like Eddie said, NGE was ok in most other forums but when he got in the off-topic he showed his tail. That happens mostly with forums like the off-topic and flame forum.

As for the members who don't post or do not like the "attitude" of DRN. I can tell you with 100% confidence that every member who does not like our attitude still comes to DRN and searches the site for answers to questions b/c they know they get correct answeres.

I'd rather have that than members being allowed to troll and be total jerks while the mods just say "tsk, tsk, don't do that please... please again... please again... oh btw, please don't do that."

This site is for dirtbikes and most importantly accurate dirtbike information. We don't allow rumors to just fly off without some qualifying information to back it up and we do not let people, no matter who they are or how ingrained in or out of the industry they are to just say anything without backing it up.

That is what I like about DRN. I can search any forum and find accurate information without a lot of useless drivel.

:( Eddie don't love me no more?

All of this boils down to a difference of opinion on what was intended, what was construed, and what may or may not have been read into a post or sequence of posts. The last time I saw a guy getting busted for DUI on the side of the road I'm sure his opinion of his condition and that of the officer that pulled him over was differet, then again maybe they both knew the same thing but the driver didn't think he would get busted? :clue:

This is a Private forum where we generally speak the truth instead of the politically correct nonsense we get saddled with in the regular forums for fear somebody might get their panties in a bunch.
That's why I posted in here, if I was shooting for some attention, maybe I would have posted in the off topic forum, with a title like "Gripe with the Tude" ;) I can take everything everyone dishes out at me for sounding like whining feel good marytr, but so far Patman is the only one that got my point!
All of this boils down to a difference of opinion on what was intended, what was construed, and what may or may not have been read into a post or sequence of posts.
I'm not trying to defend NGE or JJmxr for what they did, I'm only using those as examples to try and show what some of the newer people we are expecting to hopefully pay-up and join are reading!

So if everyone thinks everything is perfect, and all the information has been covered and answered, so all they need to do is search to find it. Then welcome to the DRN library, no talking, no noise, do your search, and go home.

Obviously this is a do as I say not as I do comment right.
Well if everyone had thick skin vs thick heads then I wouldn't have to keep coming back  (That includes me)

But alias I'll give up, F the new guys we don't need them, we got google adds to pay the bills and games to attract newbies

Yeah. And besides, I don't understand what this big discussion about altitude is all about. I mean, who cares. The only difference is makes is if your trying to jet your two stroke or sumthin. Or if your over 5,000 feet and snowed in all winter long like pred.

I don't know what the altitude in Oklahoma is and I don't really see what difference it makes.

Oh. Wait a minute. :yikes:

Never mind. :rotfl: (In my best Rosann rosanna danna voice.)

I'm just trying to be sure I'm the one that gets to be the leader and not one of the plathora of others that keep trying to give me a run for my money!

You just love a good knee jerk reactionary over-simplification to try and prove a weak point don't you? ;)

No one wants to purposely drive away new members who potentially could contribute to making DRN a better place. But unlike the US borders, we shouldn't just open the doors of DRN to any half-wit who wanders in and can't figure out how to speak the language and survive day to day. Too many people come to DRN and abuse this place to feed whatever happens to rev their internal engine. I'm personally sick of it and don't intend to sit back and watch a handfull of bipolar jerkoffs screw it up.

Anyone new who comes here and treats the place with even a hint of respect is given plenty of room to plant their feet and find a home if they want. People who treat this place like the mens room at the Dixie truck stop, deserve to be slapped and shown the door. If I can facilitate that exit, all the better.

Folks who have been here a long time tend to be protective of the place, possibly to a fault. Even so, I'll damn sure trade a few overzealous regulars for the usual group of apathetic deadheads that make up most forums on the net. Visit some of the other boards and read the gibberish and half-truths that get posted as fact and you''ll come away looking like :yikes:

It's pretty easy to get along here. Treat the place and the people with a reasonable degree of respect and things have a way of going smoothly. Some of the best threads we've ever had out here have been members strongly disagreeing on some point and going tooth and nail to come to some middle ground. The difference at those times is people stuck to FACTS and useful info rather than the BS hand wringing nonsense and personality leakage that usually permeates those stupid off-topic and flame forum threads.

Here's a tip for everyone. If you decide to air your religious, political, morality and parenting views in an open forum you better strap in tight Sally cuz it's gonna be a rough ride. If you can't handle the blowback you damn sure have no business airing that stuff in the first place, because in the end no one REALLY cares if your panties get wadded over it. ;)

Jay, this post made by you awhile back is very similar to what I am talking about. The 'wolfpack' mentality is how you referred to it.

http://www.dirtrider.net/forums3/showthread.php?t=66587

Different circumstances but check out Okie's post (#5) and Ivans post (#21). DRN is by far the best site out there but it doesn't hurt to try and make it even better.

Group huge time :rotfl:

Oh yeah, this is still funny LINK

Just trying the oppisite of your approach :nener:

I care is why I brought it up, and I see DRN as more than "just another website", and If I affend people or you in what I said, then so be it! I see you working hard to get more people involved, to add more features, and to intice people to join, but at the same time the good old boys are being counter-productive! I also know your working hard to make Dirtweek feel like it used to, maybe look beyond Dirtweek. If I was a newbie attending DW, I would not approach the Okie, Thump, Rich, Truespode, Patman, Twinny, Billywho, and Elk camp in fear of being put down in person, which is far worse then on the Internet. Maybe that wouldn't happen, but my point is the perception that is given off. You add the pro's to the "In-crowd" camps at DW, and theirs no way the shy average user is gonna came around, except JJmxr and his kid for autographs

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it, especially the 2nd part. If it has been brought up before, maybe it's not a weak point
So if you want to tear me apart because I brought it up, fine, but the examples are good ones, Truespode, I'm sorry, but you just went over the edge with the response to NGE. Agree or disagree you got you point across about 6 times in that post and in 2 threads called him ignorant and stupid. That shows the attitude and how you feel about people that have a different opinion then yours! Do you think NGE will go away, I'd say it's game on until he's banned now!
Okie, when you jumped in with the first thread with "it's all your fault Dad", you opened up the door for the dogpile!
The dog pile starts after a mod or Support member throws the first Jab.

I know I'm gonna loose, I lost before I posted, especially since I'm not part of the in-crowd and I have allready been hearing about it outside of this thread, but at least I'm not affraid to point it out!
But I am affraid of Greenhorn and his chiggers :yikes:

Rich,
If I was a candy-ass, do you think I would ever post anything that would disagree with the Mods, or even yourself?

Are you the "No-it-all" Pocket protector wearing engineering short man in real life, or is that just for effect?

That's pretty much me to a tee. ;) and anyone who cries like a little girl about not being IN is a candy-ass in my book.

The difference is , unlike most of the tools who hide behind keyboards out here I'd be man enough to say it to your face, leave it there and go ride with you afterwards.

LOL! That about as far from what actually happens as possible. Kiwi comes over, grabs a big Kiwi sized handful of red mud and smears it all over the seat and tank of my bike then proceeds to tell everyone within Cooperland how that's the dirties the bike will ever be. Young Stan Flemmings comes over to Camp Tejas and gives me all kinds of mid-teen smack talk then stops by my camp to ask for jetting help. Little Miss. Tigger always finds me and has a joke, some smack talk or a hug and typically all three. Kav came up when he arrived and we talked like old pals for over an hour and it was the first time we ever met. Try to find ANYBODY that has been to DW and been shotdown when they asked to ride my Montesa 315R or XR284. My point? Sometimes perceptions are wrong, sometimes they are correct but this one is WAAAY wrong. You can ask anybody that might have been a DW newbie at one time, everybody is accepted like old friends, just don't expect any of them to scrub your back the first time in the SpodeWash.

How could forgot this about me so soon :)
I'm not crying about not hanging out with the right folks! It was a bad attempt at acknowledging that we have an in crowd!

And like you I'm not like most of the tools out there, I'm no different then who I am on line! Note my screename! Like you I'm not hiding a thing, or trying to be someone I'm not, thus I respect those that call it like they see it! And that is what I'm doing, yet even though I over simplifiy, I feel I need to in order for it to sink in!

Patman, Im sure that's not what it's like at all!
Kav, not a newbie, has an avatar and his own Forum
Kiwi, not a newbie, has an avatar
Stan, the same
Pred, the same,
All of the above are not newbies and have all come out of their shell online. That's different from a new member that has not met anyone, or really defined them selves on DRN. I should not have brought that up, because it adds to much to this thread and takes away from what I tried to say.
