First of all, the trip to Vegas was a blast, thanks to everyone that made it possible for me to go. Secondly, I apologize for anything I did or said Friday night/Saturday morning (if you were there you know what I mean, if not... I am sure there are some pictures floating around). Here is what I remember of the trip:

Friday, Billy and his wife (who BTW is WAY to sweet and nice for the likes of Buster) pick me up at the airport, gorge at the Olive Garden where we see Ezra. Then I go check in at the hotel. Walked into the casino with $0.75 and walked out with $29 (good sign). Found AJ and shot the breeze with him till it was time for supper at PF Changs. At PFC I saw a lot of old faces and some new ones too. Okie, Scooter, Pokie, Shiftless, Buster, AJ, Patman, Sandy, Brandon, Kiwi, Eddie and Aimee, it was great to see all of you again. Marita, Stick, Bundy, Thumbs and anyone else I have forgotten, it was great to meet all of you. Friday night turned ugly when Okie led us to the bar, the next thing I know it is daylight and Okie and I were trying to find our hotel. Found the hotel but Okie forgot his room #, I told him it was 1411 (I thought it was), LOL. I found out later he goes and tries his key in 1411... nope. Goes to the front desk, asks what it is.... 1484, by the time he got back on floor 14 he had forgotten it again. Back to the desk, 1484, back on floor 14 he finally get to his room. I found my room apparently because I woke up there 2 hours later to go out to the track with Billy. The pits at Vegas were really cool, too much to see. We swung by the Asterisk paddy wagon where Billy gets recruited to help.... then everyone splits leaving Billy alone at the booth where he is getting pounded by questions, measuring and fitting people for braces. So people start asking me questions as if I work there... kinda fun, now I want my cut of the braces I sold, LOL. When the crowd disappeared Tom Carson showed back up to take over (I think that was planned). The prelims, heats and races were awesome and for some reason there were a ton of fist fights in the stands. I have no idea why two people would fight and get thrown out BEFORE the main event? Craziness IMO. Traffic on the way back was a nightmare especially with Busterwho taking us on a "short-cut" (shaking my head). Slept for an hour and a half then off to the airport to come home.

This was the most non-stop weekend I have had in a long time and I am still paying for it, but man was it worth it.Great friends, great time. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you that made it possible for me to clear my head for a few days with some of the greatest people I have ever met. I hope one day I can repay the favor. And don't let the photos that I know are coming change your opinion of me... It wasn't my fault, Okie did it.

:| Well you fooled my wife into thinking your a "nice" guy, even after I repeatedly told her different LOL. It was great seeing everybody again, but I retract the invatation to stay at my (our lol) house if you ever come out here, it's not that I don't like you, it's just I don't trust you Mister :moon:

I guess all these racers go to the local Olive Garden the night before a race.

While waiting in line for auto's at the St. Louis SX, I heard several people say most of the racers where seen in the local Olive Garden Friday night.

Yes, the crowd was almost as entertaining as the racing! Plenty of fights, so many girls to look at (with some showing off their "assets") that my neck is still sore today, an inflatable woman AND a sheep being batted around (something for everyone), the crowd doing "The Wave", and Bubba showing why he may be the second-fastest motocrosser in the world (Bubba's best lap was only a few hundreths of a second slower than Ricky's best).

One thing I couldn't figure out is why so many guys brought their bikes to the race. Must have been hundreds of pickup trucks with bikes in the back - motocrossers, off-road, dual sport, you name it.

Was a good time and I hope to make it back next year.

What was with all the fights this year? This was our third year in Vegas, and I think we saw a total of 2 or three fights the last two years. This time it was like a fight every 15 minutes. What a bunch of dopes!

I guess it's just one more instance of increasing numbers of non-riders attending these events. At least that's my opinion!

What great racing! Stewart was as exciting to watch as I'd hoped he'd be. His lines and style made it hard to watch anyone else on the track. I don't know of anyone else I've seen in a long time that has as much charisma on a bike.

And Chad Reed was so nice and humble when they interviewed him, I'll bet he read Pingree's column in last month's Racer X!

The Vegas trip was worth the 7hour drive from San Jose. Didn't see any fight though, but i saw alot of blood in the restroom. I spoke to a guy at the astericks pits, he was weaing a black DRN t-shirt, was that billy? really have to thank him for answering my questions on the knee brace.

I was really impress with RC clearing the thriple that was infront of the stand(the one whereby they interviewed the winners) He cleared it when they were interviewing MC on his win on the heat race. I wonder if RC did it on purpose to spike MC's morale.

Wild Time in Sin City!

Wow, what a great time.
Got into town around 11ish on Fri. night with the wife and sister in law in tow. That was a long drive, made me want a couple of beers for the road.
Made it down to the Alladin before most people went off to bed.
Got to meet Okie, Thump, Pokie, Scooter, AJ, Pokies wife Shiftless and AJ`s friend Jen. Already knew TTrguy, Kiwi and friend, GSR and Thumbs, so by the time I introduced Mrs mxbundy and Julie around it was time for a round of drinks. :p
Let me tell you one thing right know, I dont have nothin on Okie and Thump, those guys had us in histerics all night.
Was really relieved to see that they had a sense of humor as bad as mine.
After a walking tour and a couple of hours of Blackjack we managed to stumble down to a Dennys for breakfest. Thought Speedy was gonna hurl, but she managed to find something on the menu. For me it was GRITS and eggs baby, witha side of greasy bacon.
Hey Eddie, are you with me? Hope there arent any quizes on your stories you were tellin. I think it was around 5:30 or so before we all headed back to get some shut eye. Okie and Thump were last seen heading the wrong way down the strip. But I guess they made it, barely.
Got up on Sat after a 4 hour nap and made it down to the Bellagio for lunch with Strick and Mimi. Eel finally made it into town just in time for lunch. Eddie and Aimee and there friends were there along with Thumbs.
After lunch we split up and some of us daring souls went out to the track. On the ride out I had the pleasure of meeting the pantless one himself. Patman!
turned out he was a nice guy and filled me in on Austin realestate. Sounds like you have a nice place there, would love to have something like that someday.
After an afternoon spent tailgating with most of the crew it was time for the race. The best action was in the 125 class and I can hardly wait for the Glen helen national to see Reid and bubba go at it again. But with Langston and Brown there also, it will be epic.
By Sat. night I think most sane people would have had enough by now, but Myself and Mrs mxbundy, the evil sister in law, Thumbs, Kiwi and Estella went out and partied again until aroud 4 am.
We had one last hurrah when the same crew met up for an awesome lunch at Cosymels on Sun.

I can only hope that we do this again next year. Just cant stress how much fun we all had.
Okie, we owe it all to you buddy, thanks for bringing us all together. :)
Thump, all i got to say is, you got one hell of a grip brother, only problem was it was on my ass! :scream:
Eddie and Aimee, was really fun to get to hang with you guys again!
And to everyone else, cant wait to see you all at Dirtweek.

Ditto what "Mundy" said. THAT was a good time. GREAT racing, Reed pinched Bubba at the start but couldn't hold him off for a lap. You've got to see this kid ride in person. Unreal. He was nailing that triple big time, Reed tried it a couple times and cased it hard... that was the end of it, Stewart is the real deal. RC was only hundreths faster. Reed showed great sportsmanship. I'm putting my money on Stewart in the Nats. The 125's should prove to be the best racing this year, imho.

Hung-out the last couple of hours with Scooter, AJ and Thump Sat. night a restaurant long enough to put some absorbsion material in our stomachs... AJ and Thump had to get up in a couple hours to make their flights (man, had to be tough), hated to see it end. Missed out on Sunday's activities, trying to recoup from NO sleep, went from Friday at 7am until Sun at 2 am, seems I can't hang like I used to :) Finally slept Sunday AM, then back to lose some more money for a while, slept some more. Spent Monday at the pool with Scooter, enjoyed that a lot. Got home this evening, back to the real world, lol.

Bottom line. If you ever have a chance to get together with some DRN'ers. DO IT. The more of you I meet, the more amazed I am about how cool everyone is. Great time. We're priviledged to know so many good people. I cant wait for DirtWeek.

Various notes/obsevations:

Thump did in fact drink alcohol. Drove the "free drink lady" nuts.
Yes, we won a lot, but lost more.
Met Marita, how Billy pulled that off, I have no idea.
Thump did in fact get a Asterisk hat. Okie did not. (see comment above)
AJ is still walking around with no right shoe. Leg may not be 100%, but his radar is. He was feeling overly Patriotic at the Aladdin pool.
Ride back from a SX with AJ when you can, one lane over, big-league thong moon. Twice. :moon:
Patman and clan acted like a nice, respectful family. But Pat would not stop hitting me in the back of my head.
Too many cute, foo-foo drinks in tall brightly colored glasses being consumed by dirtbikers. Bad for the image.
Denny's for a GrandSlam when the sun is coming-up is the best food on the planet.
MXMonday (Bundy)... can talk and sleep at the same time.
speedy CAN party with the big dawgs afterall :aj:
TTRGuy... heard about those pipe bombs? Post any of the pictures and you may get to know one personally.
Next time we do this.... I want meat for dinner by God! Lawrys will do nicely, thank you. Eating tid-bits of vegies I've never heard of and tiny beef-balls in a piece of lettuce? With sticks? Nevada is close to Cali, but...
Don't hit a 21. Ever.You'll lose.
"I really didn't mean to lose all that money, just give it back and I'll leave" does not fly in Vegas.
Wear very dark sunglasses when at just about any pool in Vegas.
I'll never eat at another Buffet as long as I live.

I'll add more as the fog clears.

Let's do it again. Soon.

Don’t worry Jay, the pictures are coming, just not quite sure where to put them yet…… :p

They aren't kidding when they say nobody sleeps in Vegas! I was up at 5:00am Friday morning to catch our flight, we arrived at 11:20am, hung out by the pool for a few hours, got cleaned up and met everyone for dinner, several bars, waaaay too many drinks and an unfortunate trip to Denny's later and I couldn't believe my eyes when the sun started coming up! Went to bed at 6:00am and was up again in 4 hours for a day of SX festivities.

What I learned in Vegas...........
  • 4 hours of sleep in a span of 48 hours is NOT enough
  • more than I needed to know about billywho :p
  • be prepared for anything if you're going to go into the men's bathroom :scream:
  • that AJ needs to get back on a bike again soon in order to keep him from trying to race in a bar chair
  • AJ's pet name for Okie
  • Bundy has one too many wives
  • Thump's affinity for man ass
  • That I don’t wanna watch bundy eat in a Denny’s ever again!
  • Strick’s wife leads a double life as pimp ;)
and sooo much more.

The lack of sleep caught up with me, sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to you guys on Sat. night. On Sunday we had a blast at Lake Mead on the jetskis.

Thumbs, or should I say "doc"? thanks again for setting up the dinner! Everything was excellent!

It was great to see you all again. I had a great time. :)
