Hey all,

My riding partner has a 00 DRZ400E. The cam chain tensioner seems to be going south, as you can hear the chain slapping around occasionally at idle.

The bolt on the end of the tensioner seems to be stripped, but as we understood it, you just need to remove that small bolt, and push in on the tensioner. We tried it with an allen wrench, as it is hard to get anything else in there due to that black plastic box. Needless to say, we couldn't get rid of the noise.

Does anybody know anything about these? Is there another trick to adjusting this? I just was the same tensioner from a KLR, and it was spring loaded, and didn't need adjustment. Are we missing a spring??

Thanks for the help all!

I'm stretching my very limited memory here, but I think DrBillZ had the tab on the end of his spring break off. I'm sure he'll be on here in short order to clear this up.
