DV Update from DV (last night):

"After my MRI, I called my osteopath back in France and he told me it would be great to get checked... I jumped on a plane on Tuesday night... By the way, thanks to Franck at Air France who upgraded me to business class. The flight was so much better! It was the first time in my life I flew business!!!

I got in France around 6pm and had a appointment at 8... He put my shoulder back together. The humerus was compressed in a joint. That was causing the inflammation and the pain... Now I hope it will be good this weekend. I am in France right now and I am catching a plane this morning for New Orleans."

----------------------

I hope he's 100% (or close) for New Orleans. I was really bummed as a big DV fan to see him sit out at Daytona and open the door for RC to take the points lead. It would have been real exciting to watch RC try to chip away 3-5 points a race. Now I think it's all RC (unless he runs into problems one race). Who would have ever predicted at the beginning of the season that DV and Yogi would by 2nd and 3rd in points a little over the halfway point? What a season! :)

Hey nikki I agree it would be fun to see these guys slug it out to the end. Do you know if Pastrana is out for N.O. I hear he's under observation due to vision problems. True or Rumor? If he's out Josh is going to be bummed. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately Travis is out for New Orleans :( here is the article from RacerX:

----------------------------------
Pastrana out for New Orleans

Team SoBe/Suzuki's Travis Pastrana is taking some time off and will not participate in the New Orleans Supercross this weekend. Pastrana, 18, who has been suffering a recurring flu, has an ongoing sinus problem that seems in turn to be affecting his immune system.

According to his mother, Debbie, Travis is to visit with specialists and doctors at Johns Hopkins University for the recurring problems. "Travis hasn't been able to breathe through his nose for five years, and we have to frigure out what's wrong," said Mrs. Pastrana during a phone call to Racer X. "We talked with Roger [DeCoster, the team manager] and he agrees that we have to get this figured out soon and Travis should take time off to get immediate help. It is absolutely not concussion-related; it's his immune system that is running his body down."

Last Saturday Travis was running second for the second race in a row when he could not finish. In Atlanta three weeks ago, he pulled out rather than risk crashing when he got too sick to go on. At Daytona he rode off the side of the track and basically passed out from his illness. (He did not crash.) Mrs. Pastrana has been in contact with Stacey Henry, whose husband, Doug Henry, had similar problems during the '94 and 1995 and seasons. She has put the Pastranas in contact with a blood specialist in California who helped Doug. "While Travis' situation sounds a little different, every little bit helps. We are going to get to the bottom of this," said Mrs. Pastrana.

Kinda sucks how much supercross has become a war of attrition. I hope that DV is back this weekend. I kind of doubt if he races he'll be at full speed, but we need him out there to try and keep the points interesting. I like RC and want to see him win another SX title, but the more competitive the series is the better.
