Ok...what's your take on this? After New Orleans, RC sits with 209 points; DV has 199 points. Six rounds left.

Does RC continue to roll on to the 2002 SX championship or does DV give him a serious run?

I'm not a great RC fan (sorry Bucko), so I'm hoping that DV can catch him. I'm just not sure if he can; RC's riding is phenomenal right now.

Only possible way I see DV getting back close to the points lead is if RC makes a big mistake - like ends up on his head or has a bike problem.

If he doesn't crash and the Honda stays together... I don't think there is any way DV is going to get the points lead back. :debil:

DV will look back on Daytona as the week he lost the 2K2 SX title.

I know injury is a part of the sport, but DV will have lost the title just as much as RC wins it. Too bad, it would have been fun to watch down to the very end.

I was in N.O. and you can tell in practice that DV is in serious pain. His shoulder would drop on every jump. He is a hell of an athlete and man to ride to a third in that much pain. He had a good second place and Stephane push him out with one of those questionable passes. In the pain DV was in he just took what the track gave him and still held off MC for a podium finish. Hat's off to DV. I agree with nikki it would take a drastic turn around and a miraculous recovery for DV to take it back.RC looked great. We saw him at his trailor talking with his crew and he looked confident and relaxed. That is a great weapon to Have. It's a shame we can't see them fight to the finish.

If history is any indicator when RC gets on a roll like this he is gone, I think nikki is right, RC will have to have a major screw up to lose, I hope DV is healthier and Ferry is upright for the next round though, then we will see some good racing.

I agree ... RC is gone. He will likely open the point spread by two or three points each week. Unless he crashes or something he is the champion and he deserves it. Remember, DV got the point lead with Ricky having problems but now he's on his game.

I would like to see a full SX season with RC, DV and RedDog all healthy and at their tops. That would be a season. With all healthy and racing well it would be a very competitive season. Maybe next year.

The upcoming Nationals should be good though with the three of them. Can't wait.
