On January 8th a rider at Budds Creek Harescramble went down hard. He is a young man (27 or so). He has friends here in the district(6) and was just returning back to the racing scene. His name is Deon Brauer. On the first lap he had crashed. He was Airlifted to the University of Baltimore. His Back/spinal cord is badly damaged. He is now in rehab. Sadly he remains paralyzed from the waist down. He is self employed and has no medical coverage.
