Engine rebuild on a kx80, im going to rebuild my kx80 engine this winter because it needs new crank seals, i know i have to split the case but i dont want to mess with the transmision is that possible? Also where can i buy a gasket and seals kit on the internet. Thanks

Don't let the 'thumper' part of that scare you off. They have stuff for all dirtbikes, great service, etc. Plus, they advertise here and their support of this deserves our support of them.

The trans assembly should stay in the right hand engine case. Do the crank bearings too. Take a good look and check specs on the rod bearing, if there is ANY question have it replaced. There is NO point in going that far and leaving the old rod bearing in. If it fails, it fails big-time and does much damage. It probably isn't in all that good a shape anyway, having dealt with bad crank seals for who knows how long.
