Equestrian World Cup, Las Vegas

I'm not one to float my boat very much, yet this is more about my wife.
She's a horse trainer and as a trainer you want to go to the biggest shows. She's had her sites on the World Cup since we met, and in 1998 a car wreck ended that dream, she's had her back and neck fused 3 since then. She continued to work towards her goal by focusing on her horse, in her mind if she couldn't go at least her horse could.
Well as luck would have it her horse qualified this year with one of our friends as the rider.
"The FEI World Cup Invitational is held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, April 20th and is open to six horses based on world and national ranking. Steinberg and Parocco came in 6th with a 67.8%."
Parocco is the family pet!

We are very fortunate, for this is only the 2nd time since 1986 that the Equestrian Worldcup has been in the US, otherwise I do not think we could have afforded to fly ourselves and a horse to Europe!

Well things didn't go so hot. In order to compete each horse must pass a vet exam which includes watching the horse jog in a line to make sure they are not lame/off. Well we failed the jog and were eliminated from the event.

Must have pulled something in the stall the day of the jog, for he was good Monday and Tuesday for practice, yet Wednesday he was lame. I guess we had it somewhat fortunate, for one person from Denmark also didn't pass the jog, so at least our travel expenses were not as much as theirs!
