Are there any Escrow Officers in the house?

I am so burnt out on being in Accounting. :( I've been interested in a career change for sometime now but haven't really had the opportunity to do anything about it. Since a move may be in my near future I'm considering taking advantage of the possible opportunity to make a change.

I am curious about being an Escrow Officer. I'm pretty sure you need to be a Notary but other than that what do you need to do to be one? Certification? License? Or just experience, and then is it the ol' need experience to get experience scenario?

Any help/advice is appreciated. :)

I don't know about all that other stuff, but as far as becoming a Notary, here in Idaho it's pretty easy. I (or my employer :) ) had to pay $60 to the insurance company, $30 to the State, and then pay for the stamp (they like the ink-type ones now instead of the squeeze-type). That's good until 2007.

As far as the other stuff, talk to a banker friend. They may be able to fill you in better. :)
