Jeff, do you recall the extent of the damage done to the other '99 GG's with failed crank bearings? I'm still moving and have not yet ripped her apart. I'm happy to announce that Gas Gas parts are really pretty reasonably priced.

My 99 had a crank bearing failure before I bought it, and the previous owner replaced them both. And yes, gas gas parts are pretty cheap, except for the pistons!

Where do you come up with this stuff? Could you explain to me what a "High Speed Bearing" is?
The bearing is a 6328 which is the same bearing as a CR250, KX250 and the KDX 250. I believe the CR & KX are C3's and the KDX is a C4. Jeff recommended using either one. (C3 or C4) If you go to any bearing distributors and tell them what the application is for and ask for a 6328 bearing in either a C4 or C3 tolerences they shouldn't have any problem matching it up.

That 6328 bearing is $1500.00 and weighs in at $47. It is not available in a C4 rating. It is bigger than the whole Gas Gas Engine, so there must be some mistake about the number. Anyway, I got the Gas Gas bearings from Skunkwrx for $16 each. A smokin' deal.

You might want to tell me why the bearings I took out of my bike and are sitting right here in front of me are are stamped 6328 ? And the ones from a KDX 250 are stamped 6328 C4. O.D. 63mm X I.D. 28mm. Who ever told you they were $1500 and wieghed 47# was wrong. Check yours out and measure them.

I checked with a bearing supplier. They said that shipping weight is 47#. Ouch. I think I'll check against the KDX 250 bearing. Thanks for the physical sizes, that helps a ton!
