I am looking for opinions on the riding at Evans Creek. I ride mostly woods and being from Olympia ride mostly Capitol Forest and Tahuya, but I am looking for new places to ride. I heard about Evans Creek but dont know anyone who has ever ridden there. If you have a first hand experience with the riding there it would be most appreciated.

Thank You

It's up the Mowich entrance to Mt. Rainier take 410 to buckley and turn left at the signs.Head to Wilkenson and Carbonado keep going over the steel bridge and stay right up the hill.

Not to poular with the pit squid crowd and more challenging than Tahuya or Capitol Forest: Terrain wise it's slick like Capitol Forest with more rocks, slabs, and climbing with a rockgarden or 2 thrown in, not a lot of miles but a lot of variety, jeep roads which can be nasty, one of my buddys dropped his kx out of site in a puddle, what a hoot, you should have seen the look on his face, and full of the axle deep mud.some tight single track, lot of elevation difference, some dark woods riding and no crowd on the tight stuff. I bound to be wet this time of year and the snow will be early. Its at 4000' or better I think. Often there are maps at the entrance. If you send me a pm I can fax you a map

During the summer ther are some great views of Mt Rainier as you are on the flank of the NW side and you have a view on the Puget Sound basin

Heading east on 410 you take a "right" at the big corner in Buckley then a left way down the road towards wilkeson. It is pretty high in elevation. I have been to the entrance but never inside.
