Factory Silencer

My 03 KDX 220 still has the factory silencer on it. Can this be re-packed and how hard is it to do ? I do not know if it;s ever been re-packed so I figured I could do this too.

I am planning at some point in get and FMF silencer, but until I do I figured I could repack the original.

I want to grease the suspension linkage too, but I have never done that and I have not owned a bike in over 20 years and I'm afraid to take it apart for fear of not getting it back together or just plain screwing it up...

original does not have any packing, it just uses internal baffles for silencing. there is a small bolt at the bottom rear of the muffler to drain built up oil from inside, i used to drain mine approx every 3-4 rides.
linkage is not too hard to do, recomend you buy a service manual with pics to help you with this stuff. good luck.
