Papa - Good music never goes out of style. When most of todays bands, currently polluting the airwaves with that crap they call music, are broken up and gone Mick and the boys will still be jamming away. Heck everyone knows Keith Richards died in '78 and he can still jam a good riff or two. ;)

is simply an AWESOME guitar player..Dana Huff
name that somewhat obscure 80's band he formed, produced,played ,sang and wrote all the lyrics in. as seen briefly on MTV ;)
one clue is their "time to burn" album cover reminded everyone of the greatest american hero TV show.

I have a few of each i think..hard to say i havn't dug thru the collection in awhile.
On the trivia question ..Mr Huff and his brother were "Giant"
listen to their Cd "last of the runaways" if your a guitarist, regardless your musical tastes, the guy is inspiring.
Too bad he now sticks to just producing,but honestly many solos on megadeths recent work sound alot like huffs vibe.
My personal tastes always lean toward heavier stuff..but as a cover band i got to wallow in the hair bands of the 80's music for a decade LOL
some really terrible stuff..lol but hey it was fun music.
I mean Warrant alledgedly killed the age of the hair bands right?

Funny you mentioned type o. In college my roomates and I wandered into the unversity radio station( not sober) to try to get some free stuff. After bugging the heck out of the people they gave us two Type O negative CD's. At first we thought they stunk, but they eventually grew on us. Next thing you know Type O is blasting out my roomates stereo system at 3am everynight. This was back in 95.

Ah yes, but they were pre-grunge which means they didn't get the air play or respect that groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam saw. Unfortunately most people think the whole grunge rock thing started with Nirvana. Actually they followed the road paved by Mother Love Bone and Soundgarden. Yes, the early days of the "Seattle Sound" were great at venues like The Firehouse in Ballard... especially since I only lived three blocks away.

Haven't heard that one in a while. I tried to D/L some Voltaire on Kazaa a couple of months ago--no luck.
I was sitting in a Burger King drive-thru (in my Ghia 'vert) with some Voltaire thumpin' when I met my last serious girlfriend. She got out of her car and walked back to ask who was singing. I shoulda married that girl. . . :ugg:

Nirvana was overrated, overplayed, and overappreciated. The Foo Fighters are far superior!
Pearl Jam I like, Evenflow, but Eddy Vedder needs to quit feeling sorry for himself. I figured he would be next to check out after Cobain did.
Soundgarden -- sad to see they're done, but they left us some good stuff! Outshined! Have you ever heard Johnny Cash do Soundgarden? Excellent!
Alice in Chains -- also some good music. Does anyone know where I can find Mad Season on CD (A band, not that crappy Matchbox Twenty song!)? (A in C's lead sang for them too)
