finally gettin into the 2wheele world

hi, i have been a 4 wheel guy now for about 5 years. i want to get into the 2 wheel world. I, being a unexperienced rider am wondering what bike would be good for me, im 5-9, and 140lbs:ride:. i have been lookin online at auctions and i have found nice bikes under 1000. im on a budget of around 1200, and last but not least im a yamaha fan. i can settle with anything besides kawasaki, but prefer to ride blue. thanks

I see where you have gone to your User CP and updated information relating to your location. Grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself.

Check out the What Bike Do I Get... ? forum for great information on what dirtbikes might suit your needs and desires. There is a great group of folks that hang out in there always willing to help a newbie to the sport.

Also check out the Damn Yankee Dirt Riders forum for some folks in your area.
