OK, heres the story. I have a 1991 XR250R that I acquired in several boxes of parts for free. I am putting the bike together, fixing it all up, and donating it to some missionaries that my church supports in Africa. I have just about everything rebuilt on it, but the rear shock shaft is rusty. I have been scouring flea bay for parts, but these shocks dont come up often. Is there any other economical way to fix the shock? What other shocks are interchangeable that I can swap in there? Is there anyone here willing to donate parts to help me fix it up? Is there anyone here with an XR250 parts bike that I can get a few parts from?

Thanks!

Who does rechroming?

I can rebuild it myself, I just need a good shaft.

Paul,
I may have a whole shock.. Can you e-mail me a picture with overall length specs.. I have a shock from that vintage that I aquired some time ago, and I don't remember what it is, but I think XR250 sounds about right.

I'd donate it to your cause.

BR,
Jer

Thanks Jer!
I'll have to pull it back out of the bike, but I'll get the pics and specs to you as soon as I can.
