Ok there was a discussion on this already but could not find it. Ok FMF has sent me 3 emails saying that they are sorry and can't sponser me for 2002. But today I received an email saying that they are and email me the contract. And from what I understand its 40% off now is that 40% off dealler price or off there price?. Does anybody know why FMF would say no 3 times then all of a sudden say yes?.

Hey Matt. I got my email today too and its not 40% off. Its 25% off. You have to decided which contract you want too follow. If you get sponsored discounts for FMF products like handle bars grips bar pads things like that then you pick the 1st one. Read through the contract and you will understand. Your talking too a 2002 FMF sponsor

Is anyone actually going to get sponsered by them as I worked it out today I would save 10$ for bars not to go with fmf deal. And opps my mistake its 20% sorry but my dealer gives me the same thing and then I don't have to pay shipping so I'm not going to bother with them. And besides my bike just got the work order signed yesterday.

i had the same thing happen where they emailed me saying they werent going to sponsor me, then another email saying they were. Matt...you'll save money on bars at the dealership, but what about the other places you get discounts from with FMF? IMS, Sidi boots and countless suspension and motor companies. i dont particularly like FMF but i think i'm going to go with them ecause of all the deals i get on other products.

YoT, I couldn't help but notice that the second name out of 17 on your sponsor list was FMF. What's Up?

Ya I saw that they give you deals with other companies but how good are the deals?. Thats something I would like to know. And yes bars are cheap I know that I just bought a protapers yesterday for 150$(canadian). And I have made up my mind I'm not going with there deal. One reason why I might not beable to get sponsered by companies that i would like to have on my side. And besides the only FMF products I've ever used is and are FMF toqure reeds.

Come on guys. Look at the big picture here. If you treat your sponsors well, they usually treat you better. You guys are talking about the lowest levels of sponsorship for FMF and you shouldn't be discussing it here at all. Don't gloat. It doesn't impress anyone that I know.

It says right in your contract that the amount of discount or the discounted price you pay for there product is between you and the sponsor. It is not to be disclosed to anybody.

Its guys like you that make it harder for the people who deserve the support to get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok yes i am sorry bout disclosing the contents of the contract opps me bad. So sorry yo anyone that I peed off a little ok. Its just that i find it hard to go along with there deal ok so you buy 700$ worth of stuff from them so u save a little but the money you save you have to use for shipping. So really your not saving to much but i guess anything helps.

LES - NOT A GOOD IDEA!!

Les - all of the contracts are different. For example, the percentages of support are different from rider to rider. So I don't think having someone else send you their contract is the answer. Plus that is to be confidential between the rider and FMF.

I would email Tom Wallace at [email protected] and let him know you are having problems opening up the attachment. Or call (310) 631-4363 and ask for riders support and they will help you from there and either re-email something or send it snail mail.

This is pathetic. It's a wonder you guys got the sponsorship. Beggers can't be chosers. I am personally pretty happy that I got it. And it says in bold underline print to keep the contents of your contract private.

The 23 foot sticker on the motorcycle transporter was obviously a typo. How many of you have a 23 foot trailer??

And what's the deal with this?

i already had a sponsorship with them through IMS, but they finally got around to replying to the resume i sent them. its for the 2002 season though. 17? wow i lost count

Why brag? I think the only people who have the right to brag are those national pros we see on TV. Bragging just shows weakness...:think

Update: I just got an email from FMF. They fixed the problem with Adobe and put it onto MS Word...;)

Hey you know what. I am sick and tired of hearing people say that they get better discounts at there dealers and bla bla bla. You didnt have too send a resume in, in the first place. So stop whining. And for the fact of just being "sponsored" with stickers and **** is better than nothing. and another thing. any discount is worth it. When I get my email I was jumping up and down off the walls! Your first sponsor is the first of many and + you can add too your resume that you are finnaly sponsored by someone and not leaving the sponsors part blank:scream:

Like I said, look at the big picture here. There are people out there that look up to us. Those are the people that our sponsors want to advertise to. Once you are in the sponsorship ring, you are part of the motorcycle industry, do your part. Promote the products, get the benefits and have fun. Don't be some jerk that thinks being sponsored means you "made the big time" and rub it in everyones face, grow up.

Ok I'm sorry if I made some of you mad I was just asking what other people thought of this. And just a thought FMF sponser just about any loser on a bike. I sent in my resume in blank and said i would make them proud and they are willing to sponser me so don't bit** at me cause i sent in a resume they could have sent you papers to if you sent in something to them.

I find the nature of this thread to be absolutely amazing.

Could you please tell me, without embarassing yourself too much, exactly what type of sponsorship help IS good enough for you?

The folks at FMF are good motorcycle people who have a history of helping other motorcycle people. Notice how may folks have an agreement with them, and ask yourself what this says about the company and their level of commitment to the sport.

Absolutely Amazing.

and its not just the discounts, the have amazing trackside support for their riders no matter what class they race in. as far as all riders getting the same contract...boyesen has i think 7 different levels of sponsorship based on how good you are, im sure most other companies are this way as well whether they tell you outright or not.

I was thinking about getting sponsored........Untill I heard about the "generous" discounts and amount of advertising you must do for them.

I am very good friends with the local dealership. they are almost an informal sponsor to me. I would rather get, as stated above, a 20% dealer discount with no shipping and a good relationship with the dealer, then a little bit off a company's book price.

I will wait till I am a high B or A class rider to get sponored so I get more support.

Just my opinion though.:)
