The 04 KX65 has worked flawlessly for us so far. I raised the needle clip one position and greased the linkage and we've been good to go. Interestingly, after every ride, the tranny oil site glass gets fogged up. I've changed the fluid once so far. I'd appreciate any feedback. Anybody else experienced this?

The tranny fluid will get "milky" looking when it's all churned up. After it has time to settle and cool it should look like oil once again. The fluid should be changed every 5 hours or so.

I bought a brand new 2002 KX65 and had the same problem. Then, after about a month or so it developed an obvious waterpump leak. Turned out the waterpump shaft bearing was not installed at the factory during buildup. All that was holding the shaft in place was the seal.

All you can do is keep an eye on it and fix it when/if it goes.

I had the same problem on a 2001 KX60. From the time it was new the tranny oil would turn milky. As the above poster said I eventually resolved it by replacing the seal, bearing, and shaft. Must be a mini-KX thing.
