i'm 13 and I have a yz80, I'm thinking about getting a four-stroke but I don't know what a good one would be. I deffinently don't want anything slower than what I have. any suggestions?

lol well honda has the cr150f, maybe thats a bit faster then your 80. its bigger for sure. but depending on ur size id say if ur goin 4 stroke ur best bet would be a crf230 or ttr230, there faster i think but a lot bigger and heavier.

I think what he meant was that performance four stroke bikes tend to have more/bigger problems if you don't keep up steady maintenence on them. Two strokes need to be rebuilt every year, but when something goes wrong, its usually an easy and cheap fix.

Dirtbiker, I'd say stay with two stroke unless you are planning on getting a full on MX four-stroke. A trail oriented bike will feel way slower than your YZ80 and will most likely feel alot heavier. Unless of course, you jump up to 250 trail bike or something like that. And then, you have the issue of keeping up maintenence on the MX four-stroke machine, if that bothers you.

Fill out the profile Rich pointed you to so people can respond intelligently. You're already getting a range of everything from race bikes (CRF150) to heavy trailbikes (CRF230 and TTR230). Next someone's going to tell you to get a CRF450!

a YZ80 will beat a crf150 if its the same rider straight line.

its 90 percent rider though 10 percent bike so....

BUT the obvious step up is the CRF150R but you will out grow that in a year or 2 so then it would be a 125 or 250 4t.
