fuel filter

i have a yz125, i noticed that the gas line is only about 1 inch long then it connects to a fuel filter, then about another 2 inches of line. is it necessary to have the fuel filter? it make a few drops of gas leak every now and then. i just switched from 4 strokes so i dont know much about these

some people run them, some people don't. If it makes it leak a bit, try putting on a new one.

Take your petcock out of your tank, and inspect the filter on it.

If it's in good shape, you probably don't need the inline filter.

Make sure you drain the tank first..

You can take it off. My bike actually doesnt have one. But on that note, I want to put one on it lol. Id rather run through the filter, than not. Just extra insurance that I am not going to clog a jet, lean out, and grenade the motor.
