Fuel Starvation?

Hello, This is my first posting to this forum.
I have been reading the wealth of information here.
It has helped me get my 1988 kdx200 running pretty good.
I cleaned my carb and set the float to the correct height.
I put on an inline fuel filter from the local auto parts store.
The bike runs good except when I am running in high gear at fast speeds. At around 50 mph it acts like it is running out of fuel. Could it be that not enough fuel is passing through that filter?

Could certainly be the filter. It is easy to tell for sure by removing the filter and do the same test.

Make sure your gas cap breather isn't partially clogged, building up a vacuum.
