Getting back into dirt riding

Been out of the game for 20 + years. I'm 40, looking for size advice. I have 2 young boys and I think since we just moved back to the midwest that dirt riding would be great for us. They have a Honda 50, and I soon hope to add a 70 or 80 cc bike, but want to make sure they are going to be ok with it.
What I'm wondering is what I should look for for myself. I'm 5"9", a portly 225, and I have a bad back and knee so I want a lighter model that won't wear me down. No XR 500s for this guy:)
Does anyone have suggestions? I've been looking at the Honda and Yami 230 dirt bikes, and was wondering about the Honda CRF 150, just wondering if it is too little for me. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Welcome to DRN and back to dirt bikes. The 150 would be way too small, the 230 might be OK if you want to just plonk around on cow trails. The KDX might be better, the correct size lighter then the 230, bullet proof and a 2stroke! If your heart is set on a 4 stroke try the TTR 250 or the KLX 300 though they are not that light.

PS there is a what bike do I get subforum try there..

Good Luck and welcome back

Welcome to the site

Be sure and go to your User CP and update information relating to your location, type of riding, etc. After that grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself. How long you have been riding, what kind of riding you prefer, where you are located, etc. We will do our best to hook you up with some fellow dirt bike enthusiasts.

Check out the What Bike Do I Get... ? forum for tons of great info on bikes. Use search and you will get lost in there for days. :)

Again, welcome to the site and shout if you have any questions!
