I have a 2001 KX 250. I've been doing a lot of trail riding with it. I rode it for about 9 hours last weekend and went through a LOT of mud puddles with deep water. I noticed tonight that the oil was grey. I still have coolant. Is my oil grey from all the water I rode through? If so, where is it getting in at? There wasn't any more oil in there than I put in last time I changed it. Thanks for any info! Matt

It's just the clutch material..it's not good but i wouldn't loose sleep over it. You might consider changing you oil more often and taking a look at your clutch for any wear. Grooves in the pressure plate and take a look at the frictions and steels.

I figured it might be from the clutch. I am riding a MX racing bike on the trails. I am constantly using the clutch. If it goes out, should I upgrade to steel? Matt
