Looks like JS is playing it right.

the only thing i like about the guy is his "win at all cost" spirit , he could have been showing RC a wheel by now and got(pushed) him into a slip up??

I'm sure the overall is WAY more important to him than showing it to RC.
Maturity showing right there.

So ends an awesome win streak.

How about the cobra !!
In my mind he is the rider of the day, i think when some riders get older they loose the indoor instinct to the outdoor. I wish him well get his old job back from Chad if he chooses to leave Yamaha.

That was a great day of racing.

I had to laugh when the announcer said “ the hundreds of thousands of braking bumps”.

I almost spit my beer all over the keyboard…

cool of RC to be classy and give props to JS. He could have made excuses (like CR did with his "goggles"), instead he gave props to his team, and apologized to them for making a bonehead mistake in the 1st moto.

Reed also said MX was not really his thing.

I'm sure the sponsors paying him big money to race MX just love to hear that kind of talk.

FWIW, RC used to get ripped to shreds for his poor podium skills.

finnish? I thought he was australian :P I thought he sounded fine, imagine the crap he would have taken if he showed up to podium interview with tears in his eyes from the mud

Curious why the overall is WAY more important? The overall offers no extra points, is not used as a tiebreaker should the series be tied at the end and has no value other than knowing you won on this particular day. James just lost the AMA SX series by two points, yet on a day when he got into second on the second lap 7 seconds back of RC he decides to let RC check out and give him three extra points?

I understand the points and will say either James had nothing for RC in the second moto, or he and his camp made what could prove to be a very costly mistake.

MX points are based purely on Moto victories, ie; there is no bonus for winning the overall.

My point is "James Stewart" goes down as the Champion of the 38th Hangtown National. It doesn't say "He only won by 2 points". He also goes down as the first rider since 2003 to win an overall and the rider that ended the "GOAT's" win streak. Folks can rationalize that none of that means anything, and I wouldn't expect anything less from RC zealots :p As it is, there will be a million "yeah butts".

Now if the RC peeps want to say "RC spanked JS in the second moto", that's cool. He had the opportunity to do it in the first moto and tried, but failed? They changed position how many times? Did RC then decided to settle for 3rd?

None of it really matters....

Who won Hangtown and who is in the points lead after round one?
We all know it's a long series, but had RC gone 1-1 the RC fans would be using "GOAT" to extreme levels right now. :moon:

They evened it up on the "mistake" front and ran together for several laps, no? Simple really, JS won the first one, RC won the second. James won the war.
