Hi, my bikes a yz490. I'm only 150 lbs, but I can start it 3 kicks cold every time. Hot starting is the trouble. It can take anywhere between 2 and 20 kicks. it usually takes around 5. It runs a 40 pilot jet, 290 main and needle clip it the middle. The plug is light tan and there is no oil dripping out the silencer. It doesn't seem to matter what I do with the throttle, it starts the same. Sometimes it backfires before it starts. I am rolling to compression then kicking hard all the way though. Please give me some advice.

Try holding the throttle wide open as you kick (and quickly releasing as you do) to act as a "hot start", letting more air into a hot engine.
