I'm going to be doing the topend on my kx250 next week hopefully. When I bought the bike the guy gave me a pro-x piston and most of the gaskets , but he gave me 2 different head gaskets, one thick other thin. He said one is for more low end or something, anyone know which one does what? Pro-x pistons pretty good? Should last a while the way I ride spodelyslow:confused:

The thinner gasket will give you more compression, which will make a small improvement in low end torque and compliment the KX's famous power delivery. You can do the same thing with aftermarket base gaskets, but they also effect port timing by lowering the port height. The base gaskets will have a greater effect then the head gasket. The thicker gaskets obviously do the opposite. From experience I found the thinner gaskets are more sensitive to proper torque specs, so be sure to use a torque wrench. Good luck.
